This whole thing with them replacing the turbo is just silly. The turbo is NOT causing your problems. Just weird that they believe this will solve it
I mean, it's all on their dime, but damn this just doesn't make sense.

You told the new tech guy? You should really stress it for them to check it. Seriously takes a few moments. I don't get why it's so hard for them to really check it. Hell maybe you should check it yourself when you get your car back.
I'm done pressing it anymore... I don't want to look like the guy that believes everything he reads on the internet. They are supposed to be the smart ones, so I'll let them handle it. No matter how wrong I think they are.
Besides, they know this is their last chance. If I take the vehicle and can cause the issue again, they're buying it back. Mitsubishi called this "the final repair attempt".

This is why I asked, because if it's not part of the turbo, and it's still missing, then the replaced turbo isn't going to fix it.
Might be too late, but it's still serious progress. And in most cases the turbo [and wastegate assembly] are responsible for maintaining/limiting boost pressure so they're following the proper diagnostic charts (noting that to Mitsu, the wastegate is part of the turbo assy). And that's what the techs are paid - by Mitsu - to do: Follow the diagnostic charts. Test this, if normal, move to next test, if fail, replace item.
And with most mfgrs warranty claims the techs MUST follow every diagnostic chart to the letter or they don't get paid for the service repairs. Just like calling your ISP's tech support. No more help until you reset and reboot your router - no matter what the symptoms. Customer refuses to reset the router? Call ends.
I've had the same issues with Ford. It's very frustrating when one knows what the solution is and nobody cares.
I had a bad experience at skyline on 104th also. The service woman there even told me when going in for warranty work on stereo and seats that they had to check first to see if there was anything I had done to make it fall out of warranty.
I knew right there that it was going to be issues. They didn't test out the stereo like I had told them to, after having the car there all day. Took it to mile high and they took 2 minutes to check it out, then ordered a new head unit. Mile High was a much better experience for me and was highly recommended by other EVO owners.

Yeah man, that's just too bad. It took me awhile to develop a rapport with those people to make them understand I wasn't trying to scam em.
Now I'm starting to think I should make Mitsubishi replace the transmission due to the extra bullsh!t this problem has put on the tranny. Either that, or make them extend the warranty on it.

Hopefully someone, either Mitsubishi or the dealership will do something to make this right, not just fix it, since the car has had issues for what.... 9 months? An extended warranty would be nice, but maybe something a bit more.
I am not into soaking it up but damn, 9 months is crazy. I can't imagine how pissed I would be after all you have been through.

9 months, and 2 of those months the car sat in the shop. I have calculated about $4500 lost due to this issue. Work, rental cars not paid for, loss of use, etc.
Seriously, I'd rather they just not fix the car at all, and buy it back from me. If they were to do that, I'd be about a billion times more likely to buy another Mitsubishi immediately, or down the road. If they don't buy it back from me, I'll NEVER buy another Mitsubishi vehicle as long as I live. I'm that pissed and over the situation.
Either way, even if they do fix the car, I'm still going to seek monetary damages. They buy the car back from me, and I will drop the whole thing and forget it ever happened.

Just got the call that the car will be ready by the end of the day. He then proceeds to tell me that he's working on putting the turbo and manifold in right now. So I ask him "So, he's gonna test it after he puts that stuff in?". I think he misunderstood the question because he responded "Of course they're going to test it". What I meant was, "You are SO confident that it's the solution to the problem, that you are going to tell me it's ready before you even know if the problem is actually fixed?"
I guess we'll see what happens...

hope it goes well for you. Maybe you can ask the previous owner what mods were done on the car, surely the delearship should have the info, And maybe have them buy back the vehicle for a warranty issue.
