From the sounds of it, they were done trying to fix it. My whole point is I think a good tuner would be better at fixing this issue than they would since they are sitting on their hands and have had how many tries at fixing this??????????

It's about f*cking time
I hope they buy it back....

I'm going to say that they've made about 6 or 7 full attempts to fix the problem, with no resolution.

I'm going to call Mitsu corporate today and see what they say. That lady Charisma told me she'd call me back in a couple days, and it's been a lot longer than that.

HA! I'm seriously disappointed with that top 10. I'd say there are 3 or 4 that deserve to be a part of that list. Either way, Charity Beaver, LMAO!

Yah that list is pretty bad. The girl from Oregon is kinda cute (i'm biased though). Some of those blondes that are in their low 20s look like they are in their late 30s.

the cart girls from AvidGolfer typically are pretty good

Since you've involved a lawyer I think you should have him communicate with them. That's likely why she's not called you back. Once lawyers get involved the pawns tend to be reigned in.

LOL woof woofs.

Yah good point on the lawyer... that's gotta be hard to do... not do anything while you trust your lawyer to handle it.

Webman, can you compile a list of the fixes they've done to the car?

Did they replace the MAF?
Did they replace the downpipe (I think they did)?
Have they checked boost was appropriate (I'm wondering if he turned up boost then put a stock tune back on)?
Did they check for a boost pill being removed?
Anything else they may have done?

What they've done

1. Replace MAF (May)
2. Replace MAF (Sept)
3. Replace ECU (Sept)
4. Tighten vacuum hoses and grease electrical connections (Oct)
5. Replace downpipe to return car to stock (Dec)

They've also rechecked the vacuum hoses

I mentioned the "boost pill" thing, and he mentioned it to a tech, and the tech said "I don't know what the hell he's talking about"

I got the car to throw the code yesterday morning on my way to work, took it to the dealer yesterday afternoon and they pulled the code and freeze frame data. Same code, however this time it was completely different freeze frame data. 28 mph, full throttle, boost coming up in 2nd gear. Much lower RPMs than previous captures (~4800 RPM)

Just another thing to note, it NEVER happens once boost is at max (and what I mean is, my butt feels where boost is at that point, and once full boost is reached, it doesn't occur). This ALWAYS occurs while boost is building, and right near the top.

The boost pill is hidden. They only way he'd know about it is if he'd actually removed the hose and took it out. So I'm not surprised he wasn't aware of it. But the boost pill is a common upgrade on MRs. So I definitely wouldn't rule that out without a tune. You may want to tell them to replace that line entirely.

Now on for the fun part. If boost was turned up, and it's not tuned for it, it can throw codes out at even low boost pressure because the fuel / timing maps aren't ready for that boost at even low RPMs. Just an idea. But I have a hunch it's something to do with boost / boost pill.

If you don't know where that is, here is the thread. SHOW THEM THE PICS if you have to.

BTW... I really think the mods should change the title of this thread to something to do with the code you're throwing. It may be beneficial for someone that comes across this problem in the future.

There is also the top pill that COBB has removed.. it's in one of the vac tubes connect to the upper right?? solenoid.

Like I said too, I had the issue pop up when I cranked down my wastegate actuator arm. Should have them see if it's tightened all the way down on the threads.. if it is, maybe they can back it off 4-5 turns if the boost pills being replaced don't fix the issue.

I just made a call to Mitsubishi about this whole situation. I guess they haven't contacted me because of the legal stuff going on. The one thing she did mention was that they think they are going to have me take the car to a different dealer to have it checked out. This blows my mind because the district manager was out at the dealership, and went through the entire flowchart of repairs with them, step by step. This isn't a dealership issue anymore. If Mitsubishi doesn't know what the problem, then what is another dealership going to be able to do?

It's all a bunch of crap, I say. Just buy the damn car back from me, and let me be on my way. Plus, I'm going out of the country on Friday and won't be around to deal with it for nearly 2 weeks.

I say it's good timing then. Let them take it to another dealership... have a more experienced tech look at it. If you're gone for two weeks let it be there while you do your thing. Come back to hopefully a fixed car. I still think they need to look at all that stuff listed above.

If it isn't fixed when you come back, demand to have the car bought back with legal methods. If after another dealership not fixing it, obviously the car is a lemon and needs to be dealt with.

GL.

Good thing is, the demand to buy the car back has already been made.

My problem is, if a Mitsubishi engineer doesn't have any ideas as to how to fix the problem, I'm doubting a tech at a dealership is going to know what to do, unless he's a motherf*cking genius prodigy. lol

I'll keep updating.
