No doubt. Only thing is, I HATE the leather seats in the 2010 MR. They are ugly as hell with that polka dot hole pattern on the center leather, vs the suede in the 2008.

We'll see. Of course the answer was "We'll see what the tech says"

Dealer has had the car for a week now, and they still haven't quite figured out what they are going to do. One of the techs suggested that some of the connectors may not be making good contact, and that they may need some dielectric grease on them. Strange, but whatever. I still disagree that it's the issue. I told them they should just put the exhaust back to stock, and go from there. They are looking into that, and speaking directly with Mitsubishi about it.

I miss my Evo

... while I think it's noble you don't want this car being a problem for someone else. I think you should just try and get another car. This has been pretty troublesome for you, and I believe they at least owe you a different car. Let the next person deal with the problems, they might know exactly how to fix them.

With that being said, I'd try and get the downpipe on and go from there. Good luck man. You shouldn't be having these issues... I feel for you.

I'm too far upside down to get a brand new 08 Evo. It's unfortunate, but whatever. Dealership is working a ton of angles right now, and I guess they've got a list of things to do, from Mitsubishi. I'm now 9 days without my Evo.

Just tell them to severeley discount the price of a new one to make it so that your terms/payments are the same on a new one. It's their f*ckup...... Same payments as your current ones, but maybe your terms obviously just start over.

That's what we tried to do yesterday. Obviously they weren't that interested in making the deal happen. There was none of that shady "we write a number on a piece of paper, and you initial to accept" crap. It was all "best deal" related. Found my exact car out in Salt Lake City. They ended up coming out with a $47k price tag after coming from upside down. Somehow the math doesn't add up since you can get the new MR for around $35k, and I owe about $38.5. But whatever. I'll just push them even harder to fix my car now. I'm also working with a lawyer on the lemon law case against mitsu. We'll see how that goes.

Good as far as I can tell. I guess Mitsu has a bunch of suggestions, and they are going to try them all. Unfortunately, I don't think replacing the downpipe is one of them. I plan on taking it into the mountains again if I can get it back before this weekend. Forcefully cause the issue again.

If it's a new transmission, I suggest not forcefully causing the issue again. There is a break-in period on them.

The leather Recaros ONLY come in the 2010 Evolution MR Touring. For 2010 the base MR trim still has the suede Recaro seats, same as 2008.

I doubt it'll be a new tranny. The transmission problems only exist immediately after the P1235 code is thrown. Either way, if ti were a new tranny, I'd be somewhat nice to it.

Finally some good news. Dealer decided to replace the downpipe to return the car to stock. FINALLY! So it's on order and should get installed tomorrow hopefully.

That's good, but not sure why it wasn't done in the first place. They at least OWED you a downpipe after selling you a modified car.

No doubt. Took a lot of convincing to get them to do it finally. It was the Mitsubishi tech line that finally said that's what they needed to do. They also admitted they should have caught the mod in the first place, but didn't. Tried to say it was cleverly hidden. However, that's totally not true because after only 90 seconds of a friend of mine looking UNDER THE HOOD, he noticed it. And that's with it covered up by the manifold heat shield! lol. Whoever did the inspection made a huge mistake.
