Hesitation problem?

Just wondering if anyone has run across this. The car has the stock setup for boost and stock intake. There is no MBC and I don't think there has been a tune that I know of (bought the car used) The car seems to run fine but when I hit the higher RPM's in any gear...say about 4 grand it seems like I get a type of hesitation. Almost like hitting fuel cut off (although I am no where near the redline) and the power really seems to drop off. It is almost like if you were flooring it and the all of a sudden you cut the power. Any ideas? Could there be a boost leak I am unaware of?

I had this issue too, prior to getting the Dealer Reflash.
I bought a K&N Air Filter. And that fixed the stutter problem.
Also take it in and get the dealer reflash.
Oh And buy an Access Port too, that will also fix it. AND make your evo FAST!

check that the hose for the fuel pressure regulator hasn't popped off..real common, it will happen to every evo X that doesn't have a clamp or tie wrap on that hose.

I checked the fuel pressure regulator hose and that is fine...I actually zip tied the hose a while ago because I had heard this was a common problem.
As for the reflash...that is kind of what I was thinking. Was this reflash back to the stock ECU Maps?
The AP is on my list of things to get...just waiting till the first of the year.

There are a bunch of threads about this studder problem... I have it also. It may be the exhaust flap in the stock exhaust. It cannot keep up sometimes and creates this bababababaaaabababab noise.

LOOK HERE!!! I know you dont have the cobb or anything, but it seems like the same issue. I have a catback coming in tomorrow that I am going to put on to hopefully take care of it. we will see.
