Throwing P1220?
Recently got the triangle check light (the one for the timing chain) and opted to pull the DTCs with evoscan 2.9.00019 (previous versions couldn't get the DTC). It gave me a DTC P1220. Did a quick look up but couldn't find anything directly to evo Xs. CANODBII website indicate its for the ETV System which would be the electronic throttle valve system? Any ideas if this code is even real?

Well, some (or even many, if not all) might disagree with me, especially if the car is critical to you or them as a DD, but my approach to my Evo X has already evolved - as it were - to the point where I almost ignore a code when it pops up the first time. I clear it and wait to see if it repeats. I suppose if it were something dramatic, I might do something more than check connectors and such, but for anything like this, I move on with life.
Of course, some of my Native American friends call me "he who walks to work," so you might want to get some other advice.

bttmft!!!!
i just recently got the triangle of death and assumed it was the time chain code.
pulled the code and it read p1220. did a quick search but couldn't find anything except what the op has already stated. etv...
the shop reset the code but it came back the same day. i drove home with no code. got home and turned off the car. as i was walking away, i wanted to see if the code would come back so i started the car again and bam!!! it was back.
op, did you end up finding out what the code was? what year is your evox and how many miles do you have? mods?
thanks.
car is running fine. idles fine. pulls fine.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but has anyone figured out what causes the P1220 code? My friend has been getting the same code over and over but we can't seem to find anything wrong.

Add me to the very small list of people this has happened to. Anyone ever get this figured out?
This is literally the only thread on EvoM with P1220.
Some google searching lead me to believe that there are multiple (2) throttle position sensors in the actual throttle body, and this code is symptomatic of a discrepancy in the readings between the two of them (santiy check).
I cleared this several times and it always comes back within 40-50 miles.
If indeed it is a sensor, fixing it would involve replacing the failed sensor-- hopefully that does not mean buying a whole new DBW throttle body... I have not looked in to this very much, because as others have said, "car drives fine!"
2011 RalliArt sportback, for what it's worth.
