Hopefully shifting into 2nd will loosen up a bit for you. Got ~1200 miles on mine now and it's definitely not as notchy as it was at first.

Issues:
Passenger side DRL and HID light stopped working. Replaced all bulbs.
Dealer replaced front right wheel hub under warranty. It was making a weird noise at 45mph+
And of course notchy gear changes from 2nd to 3rd

Any Issues: Burnt the clutch up (me being a dumba**), 2nd Stage fuel relay went bad ran very very very lean, MAF around 40,000

I too have paint chips everywhere and a small hole in seat from gettingin and out

Mods : I/H/E and tune for mods. Tune is great, good gas mileage (31 mpg regular) but I baby it.
Wheels, coils, ect...
problems : Timing chain stretched @ 76k. Replaced it and guides for about 275 in parts from the dealer. Still runing great
