i hope the inside is redone as well.... i love the VII and IX outside but i wished the inside had some more luxury to the pannel and the meters (turbo, etc) were placed better and a better stereo system

i just wish the X would look like this one

I think I like it.....the more I look at it the more I like! The only part that really throws me off right now is the dash and crap but I am sure most of that will change. Overall I am impressed (I even like the color).

Don't judge an SMG/DSG gear box by your experience with a manumatic slush box. The two are totally different. An SMG/DSG gearbox IS superior to a manual. You get perfect rev matching on downshifts and the time between gears is drastically reduced. The only downside is the ~100 lbs extra weight for the system.

Consider this. The average speed shift for a human is around 0.4 seconds...an SMG can do it in 0.1 second. In the 1/4 mile the EVO has 3 shifts, so over the 1/4 the SMG is accelerating an extra 0.9 seconds as opposed to coasting . And that's just for a 13 second 1/4 mile...imagine a 1 minute road course.

What about launching? Wouldn't the SMG still hold back 1/4 times and trap speeds?

BMW's and Lambos have launch control programmed into the SMG. With the BMWs you flick the gear shift in a combination of moves (I don't know it off hand), press the brake and floor the gas. The rpms go to a specified rpm and hold until you release the brake. Perfect launch without toasting your clutch.

The EVO 10 is fricken hot......But.....I wonder what dodge's version of the car will look like. I hope the hood looks more like the 03 cobras and less like the SRT4's.

I also would like to get some HP numbers. As for the aluminum block....welcome to the 20th century! The Z06 also shares an aluminum block....I highly doubt you have to worry about it being the weakest link.

The car will grown on everyone......the new look always takes awhile to sink in to some people. The difference is comparable to the 1G and 2G eclipse. Night and day as far as hipness goes.
