I am more than sure Evo X will consist of a lot of aluminum body parts, an all-new aluminum engine, and all those things will make it roughly around the same weight as the current Evo IX while being slightly wider.
I don't think Evo X will be that much heavier than the current car. Add to that a more powerful engine (and, again, LIGHTER engine) and I can easily see this thing doing 4.2-4.5sec. 0-60 stock. And if they will put a larger displacement engine (say 2.4 l) the numbers might be even better.

It's just the trend of all current manufacturers... new model = more weight.
BMW did the same.. putting aluminum suspension parts (Current Evo already
have this right?)... went as far as putting magnesium head... but still manage
to gain from 100 to 150 lbs...
I believe that price of luxury will outweight the benefit of all these aluminum-
lightweight gains... AND the worst of all... price hike..

IMO, big price increase already on the MR models over regular Evos.. just
so Mitsubishi can get to the 40k mark... It's like they are testing the water
with the MR models...

To me Concept X looks like evolution of the 1999 Galant shape and I love it.
Why do all you people assume because I said heavier and more refined that it will automatically be a Audi/BMW/or Lexus style of vehicle?
Heavier could just mean 20-40 pounds. More refined could just mean, more seat adjustments and a telescoping tilt adjust steering wheel and automatic climate control and less squeaks and rattles.
Safer could just mean more airbags and stability control.
No need to jump to conclusions and take things to the extreme.

Of course Evo X will be an all-new design so it can't be compared to Evo IX and just an engine swap from cast iron to all-aluminum so we will see.
But I bet the new Eclipse would shed a lot of pounds just from an engine change to all-aluminum.

That would be the government, with tariffs, import taxes, transportation from Japan and safety requirements. The dealership has an average markup of $1500 to $2000 on MSRP.
