Yes that is an artist's rendition or a really crapping photoshop effect... but it is a whole different design for the X than I have seen as of yet... I know the care has been show in auto shows and stuff and there are pictures of an actual Evo X just thought i would share this pic... cuz alot of the cars you see in auto shows that are still concept... usually change immensely...

It's an old Photoshop image of artists rendition of what EVO X may look like, however that image is older than the actual Concept X so I doubt that the new Evo will look anything like it. Anyway, actually Mitsubishi recently has stayed true to their concepts most notably Concept E and the new Eclipse, Pajero Evolution and the new L200 truck, Colt Concept and the actual Colt, I mean on the outside the only differences are on more refined front and rear lights, overall shape pretty much stays the same.

So I am guessing that Concept X is pretty much what we will get maybe except few cosmetic changes such as front and rear lights and probably the hood.

the lights were really the only thing i didn't like about the concept X...

I cant find much on that 200+ page merge on the evoX

First, Ive been outta the EVO loop for about a year and a half.... so dont mind that I dont know so much about the EVO X which has me very interested in btw.....

But

A: is the DSG type tranny confirmed?
B. are we getting anything like the AYC /ACD yet?
C. is this not based on any sedan? then why no coupe (spare me the heritage thing)
D. whats the deal on this new engine, share anything with the 4G?
E. not really a question, but I hope that wing is optional (RS model?)

A - 50/50 nothing's confirmed but there's a strong possibility that it will be an option
B - ACD most likely but there's almost no info on what the USDMs AWD will be like
C - I believe it will be based on the next lancer platform. Why not coupes? Because mitsu doesnt make one (the eclipse is based on the galant)
D - It will be all new most likely, it will be a 4G just not a 4G63
E - As with previous evo's, an RS package would likely be offered

All in all though, no one person or group can tell you any definitive answer other than Mitsu themselves so treat the Evo X news you hear as half rumors.

I thought mitsu was developing an engine with hundai & dodge using the srt4 motor as a flatform.

Yes they are but they havent confirmed if they'll use it on the X. And correction, they're not using the SRT4 as basis for the new engine.

It has to be faster, leaner, meaner, otherwise Mitsubishi is in big trouble. It supposed to be their halo car. But judging from the Concept X and various interviews with couple of executives of Mitsu and the actual designers of Concept X in Frankfurt, Germany, I think Evo X will be the best Evo as to date.

Why? I love when people say stuff like this.

I think it will be not significantly faster then the current car. I also think it will be heavier, safer, quieter and more effecient. Which will be an engineering marvel if they can pull it off, and they'll sell even more of them.

I do not think it will be heavier, safer, and quieter than my CLK so why would

pick a market that it cannot compete. If they target that market people would rather buy G35's, IS350 and etc.

I feel the interior would be improved so it would not loose fans to the Subaru rival but it must be raw and hardcore to keep current buyers and the Evolution name.
