So, I realize that S-AWC will cause the body to roll less, which will also do away with most of the inside tire slip when coming out of a corner because preasure in more even between the tires. (Food for thought) If my tires are not slipping then why do I need an ACD, except for launching from a stop? Are there any other bennefits of having an ACD after S-AWC? I realize that w/ an ACD three tires will have power to them, but if no tires are slipping why would I care?

Who the heck cares! All this tunning and modding is coming down to is basically a pissing contest. It not about the cars anymore sadly, now it about telling that guy in the STi that his car is crap because it can't pull as much HP as your 4g. Big frickin' deal.
A majority of people only dream about that much power, but it is nice to know that a car like the Evo can adapt to it and respond so well.
evo was the technological showcase for Mitsu
from Evo I to even now
they have put un proven tech into the car to showcase wht can be done
It wasnt a car to make money at all.
it has AYC SAYC ACD and soon DSG , technologies only exist in the evo line
I dun see that principle is going anyway
failing DSG will be no surprise as a leaking AYC fluid
The strange part of Mitsu is that , they never mirgrate these tech to other vehicles
unlike Nissan , Attessa has been threw to other bread and butter vehicles to make money
Mitsu basically leave other cars w/o any Evo techs
(hmm wheres spell check button..)

Hey everyone, long time no see!
While I can't provide "official dates" here is what's being said in Japanese websites and magazines...first let me start off by saying that in Japan currently the Evo IX is sold in only RS, GT, and GSR trim! Meaning, there is no IX MR yet! The 'supposed' IX MR you guys have in the US is basically a slight upgrade of the VIII MR with the new front bumper (I know I'm not being specific, so lay off
) According to an April issue of a Japanese magazine called "Car トップ" (Car Top), which is fairly reliable, they said the Japanese Evo IX MR will have more than the current 280ps (276 horsepower) and will prolly adopt the Yamaha REAMS system currently used on the AUDI RS6. The date they quoted for release was September this year, which I believe to be true because when I asked a dealership (remember I live in Japan) they said there are still roughly 860 Evo IXs (of the 5,000 total) that have yet to be sold, so I doubt 三菱 (Mitsubishi) will be selling the newer MR until the rest are sold and that won't be until the end of the year! Lastly, other sources of mine have all said that the EVO X won't be released in Japan until January 2007 at the earliest! And if this were true, it prolly wouldn't be until next summer before it was out in the US. Take my info for what you will, but I'll just add that I was the first to post real pics (and by 'real' I mean taken in person) of the Japanese Evo IX
Peace

Evo X transmission speculation
So, while I was on NASIOC a guy posted this story.

So my question is what does it mean if Getrag makes BorgWarners (DualTronic) transmission for the Evo X? It has been said that the drivetrain will change too which it looks like Getrag does also.

Hey, check out those high beams in that pic. It looks like some sort of an LED array or something. HIDs for low beams and high power LEDs for the highs. That would be really cool. I've heard that there have been some major developments for high output LEDs and the possibilities for automotive lighting. I would think a debut of this technology on the X would be great for it's marketing.
I have to admit I really didn't like the X at first, which is why I jumped on the IX, but it's really growing on me. I think they might just have a winner here.
