and what, exactly, is the point of covering the engine with that al plate? If they haven't decided on an engine (or finished designing one) why don't they just not show it?
and can we _please_ keep the steering wheel round?

So on since sunny days when you drive with the windows down and arm out you WILL get a nice burn on your arm.
Ask any second gen mr2 owner about that one.
Square wheels are less functional but look cooler.
I think the actual, textbook purpose for the squared wheel is so that you can get in/out of the cars easily and it doesn't hit your legs, specially if it's a single seater racing car. Now with the relatively vast amounts of room available in the evo, what's the point?
I'm not so sure about the looks, but I drove an s2k with a squared steering wheel (it has VGS or something) and it just felt really strange when you park or turn the steering wheel a lot. When you're backing up an looking backwards, I kept having to look back round to see that I've still got the steering wheel. Silly, I know, but that's what happened and I didn't like it.
Anyway, I think you might be onto something about the windows...

Mitsu UK now says early 2008 launch instead of mid 2007. Don't know if I can wait that long. Add on at least 6 more months for the +4k over MSRP crap to die down and you are looking at 2.5 years away. Sheesh.

Of course, it is mid March already, and each time information about it comes out you'll have a newly revived faith. Not to mention that the last 6 mos. you'll pee your pants from all the buzz, and excitement.
This whole thing kind of bothers me. The Evo is getting more popular, so time to take it upscale? Looks heavy, expensive and hard to tune. Why can't they just de-evolve and start making the VI TME again? Give me CHEAP, LIGHT WEIGHT, and a TRIED AND TRUE MOTOR.
As much as I love the Evolution, I am going to goouge my effing eyes out if I see old pictures of this car again. I want my click back.
EDIT: Apprently I already commented on this thread, so I want BOTH of them back.

it's starting to grow on me. Mitsubishi always come out with some crazy concept but never actually deliver it. The new eclipse is the closest that they got in terms of concept to production. If they soften up a lil i think we all will become a fan of it.
