The Acura RSX-S ECU is a microprocessor, and substantially more difficult to crack than a 3G Eclipse would be. But it was cracked. Why? Because the RSX-S is not a flaming pile of crap, that the Honda K20A is an engine worth modding.
If there is a good following for a car, its not a matter of "if" an ECU will be cracked, it is "when". For a car like an Evo, it won't take very long, I promise.
So much for your conspiracy theory, man.

In 2006 honda released a reprogramable ecu on the s2000's, the rsx was always reprogramable just some minor encryption. You might want to rethink your thinking.
Well, I was at the local Mitsu dealer yesterday getting some work done to my car. I talked to the service manager and he said the regional rep told him that MMNA is trying to get the X pushed out in 6-8 months instead of spring 08. Has anybody else heard this, or have more info on it?
From threepointsix - Mitsu has always been in a financial state of whackness here in the US. Mitsu wont shut down - thats retarded. Ford and GM are already sharing transmission parts and the new Tranny in the Evo X is an Audi piece....car companies dont die, they just get traded
Funny the new 350 hp Audi TT with the 5 cly. 1/2 of a Lamborghini Gallardo engine will not come with DSG because the DSG is "not ready." Are we the Beta testers?

if
if the chip doesnt accept rewrite you just go back to the old way and replace it with one that does

pltek, I kind of thought that also and I guess its not a major factor in proving its a mitsu but it does have the "driven to thrill" license plate frame on it. Like I said, thats easy to change out but I think this photo is the real deal.
