its ulgy as hell thats for sure....my salesman said the new lancer base models will be out in January 08 and then the EVO X many months after that.......

 

Your salesman is pretty much dead wrong about regular Lancer... It will come out in March 2007...

 

I saw the time elapsed sheet for the mitsubishi models......the lancer now was stopped last month for production and then it said 2008 for the lancer on the timeline...

 

We need some real facts, come on mitsu

I hate to say this, because seriously you come off as a nice guy (and I don't even know you) but yeah that info you provided is kind of old and already known. Just FYI incase others aren't as gentle as I.

WTF? No way I'm waiting till 2009 for my next car.

 

i am a salesmen at norco mitsubishi...tell you the truth the evo X is the ugliest i have ever put my eyes on...but thats not what you guys should be looking at...you guys didn't by the evo's because they look good did you?...or did you by them because of the way it performs.....i agree...i own an evo ix myself and i love it...so before you can say anything wait till the car comes out and take a test drive...if it sucks it sucks what can we do....mitsubishi has made up their minds...and thats the bottom line...i ahve also heard that the evo x is not comming in a 5 or 6-speed....so right there i will never by an automatic sports car....

 

and the Evo is expected to be launched early in 2008.

 

I've been in a holding pattern since selling my 2003 Corvette this fall -- all for a glimpse of the Evo X and some real info (not gossip) on performance and features -- I'm gonna feel very, very frustrated if I held off on my next purchase for an Evo that won't hit showrooms until 2009.

 

I am going to stick my neck out here and my knowledge from working in the auto industry to say the Evo X will be here sometime in the latter half 2008 as an MY09 model--most likely 3rd or 4th quarter of 2008. I personally like the way the new Lancer looks--it is way cooler looking than the out-going model. It will be interesting to see how Mitsubishi turns the body into the next Evo. In about a month, we will have a very good idea how exactly that will look. I'm not sure I like the flared wheel arch design of the rolling prototypes as opposed to the current Evo that has the more broad fender flaring flowing into the body. And to answer the Mitsu Salesman, yes, in addition to its incredible performance, I absolutely bought the Evo for its looks. I love the way it looks. It just looks like a serious car not to be messed with. A nice small sedan that is not too small nor too large. I also love how all the exterior lines work together. The interior is also not nearly as lacking as some more picky Evo owners are quick to point out. My .02 on a Wednesday afternoon.

 

Yeah, I love the way the Evo looks too. I don't drink the Kool-Aid that says you must think its immature and ugly with a cheap interior to be accepted in society as a well adjusted human being.

I would think the Evo would come out late in '07, like in Novemeber/December like they did originally, but this time as an '08 model. RA maybe a month later if its aWD and turbo, or a month earlier if it is FWD.

 

so the new EvoX will be in auto transmission?
