Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
I heard that Chrysler had nothing to do with Mitsubishi anymore. That was the reason why Mitsu was going bankrupt a few years back. They bought out there share from Chrysler. Now all Mitsubishi's are all Mitsu. Its just that the new Gen of EVO's will be using a motor that other car companies will use also.
Yep, this is not a prediction but known fact revealed to me via an unnnamed high ranking factory employee that the real deal, not the Concept X, will be at the North American International Auto Show. (25 days from now) Merry Christmas!

And No this is Not a cruel joke
Mitsubishi has confirmed it will use the NAIAS 2007 in January for the worldwide unveiling of three new vehicles.
Mitsubishi will introduce the all-new 2008 Lancer. The Lancer is Mitsubishi’s compact sedan, one variant of several based on Mitsubishi’s all-new global platform. Mitsubishi will provide more details as the show draws closer.
In addition, Mitsubishi will unveil the Lancer Evolution Prototype. The Lancer Evolution -- called “Evo” for short -- is extremely popular with the young, compact tuner audience.
Mitsubishi will also hold the worldwide introduction of a new concept car, details of which are being kept secret for now.

Not bad, if this sketch is a good indication of the final product than mitsubish has a winner again. Now, I await all the pissing and moaning of how ugly it is, dual exhaust, wide finders and no 4G63. C'mon guys, amuse me...

The plebeian versions of the Lancer sedan were unveiled to us earlier this week, but the base DE, ES and mildly sporty GTS models are not the versions in which we are particularly interested. That model would be the legendary EVO, and while we're still not privy to its production version yet, Mitsubishi will be bringing this Prototype X Concept to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit to wet our appetites. It looks hot and not at all unlike the various EVO-inspired concepts Mitsubishi has shown us the past year, including the Concept X and the Concept Sportback. The Prototype X even has the exact same three-vent hood of the Concept X, as well as a similar front fascia and rear diffuser. We're betting the Prototype X is a pretty clear indication of what the production version of the next generation EVO will be, which judging from the sketches is just fine with us.
