Not specifically a repost. But there are much more accurate pictures.. Those look like pics of the Concept X, which is old news. Look lower, Mitsubishi has released official pics of the Evo X.

Yeah, that's the Concept X... not the actual Evolution X. I liked the concept version's looks the most.

 

When are the EVO X coming state side?

 

The plan is 1st quarter 2008 as a 2009 model. So the common rumor is February. We'll see though.

 

The new car and driver and sport compact car have the final production pics of the new evo x, plus they mention that the drivetrain weighs 53 lbs. !!! less than the current drivetrain.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt and saying they just meant the weight difference between a FWD lancer drivetrain and the X's drivetrain, I don't believe it.

Transfer case + Driveshaft + rear S-AWC diff + front diff S-AWC upgrade + half-shafts = 53 lbs? As optomistic as I am, I don't think so. If it is true, I'll be amazed, and the X's final weight will probably a stone's throw from the MR.

EDIT; I just re-read that.. Did you mean "53lbs!!! [new sentence] Less than the current drivetrain." Or "53lbs less than the current drivetrain." ?

if they came out with them taillight as a aftermarket upgrade! then sign me in! them tail lights are hot!!!! but the IS350 taillights that come with the production model are hot too but thez are mad hot! can u imagine them but in carbon fiber!!!

 

hmm lightest lancer is at 2999... hmm then the lightest evo X would be an RS X at maybe 3300 or 3375... just add some CF to her diet and ull get a nice n lite pakage!!! hmm im thinkin that some of the weight is from them rienforced doors and maybe on the fenders... so turn them in CF! that 4 CF doors and 4 CF Fenders! plus CF hood n trunk! and maybe even a roof and spoiler! this is a mega weight savings!!! oh and a fiberglass body kit! plz i kno that if u want to make this baby lite then there is a way!!!

 

it's going to be awesome.

 

I think the stock tails are fine, if someone can pop them open and bodycolor the surrounds. I'm definately going to take a crack at that if/when I get my X.
