Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
sup guys, thanks to everyone who pitched in.
So basically this should be an EVO-X drivetrain mule. That sounds cool. Even with the actual EVO-X (shell and drivetrain and all) already testing in CA, it's still very nice to see something different local.
Will let you guys know if I spy anything else

this car is definitely shipped from Japan, the jdm evo 8 talilights, and right hand drive give away the clue. the hand does look like dummy tho... he is prob wear a glove.
I like the concept of oversquare engines... more revs, less wear, etc. My problem with them is that the manufacturers can claim big hp numbers (at very high revs) that aren't a good indication of performance because the engine tends to make less torque. If the Evo X winds up being portly, that torque number is going to be very important.
He makes some good points, and I like some of the ideas he has. I hope some of them pan out. Though I'm not sold on the 8K redline. High revs get you good HP numbers, but it's torque that really counts. It sounds like the 4B11 will take to stroking well. Hopefully we'll get the best of both worlds once the Tuners get a hold of the engine; torque from displacement and a high redline.
With the rigidity of the new body, the S-AWC, and if he's right about the brakes, the X sounds like it'll be tearing chunks out of the corners of the test tracks.
Much as I like Subaru, the more I hear about the Evo X, the more I think the STI won't have a chance (stock for stock). I hope I'm wrong; I hope Subaru surprises us. Subaru needs some muscle and agility under that bulbous body, and Mitsu can't be alowed to get complacent.

Then why are you here instead of a Honda forum? Would you like ketchup and mustard with your shoeleather?
