Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
Uh, yeah, it's a test mule, it has nothing to do with the design of the final product. They're just testing drivetrain/suspension. Ford stuffed the supercharged v8 for the GT into a mustang, which is certainly not how the car turned out (looking like a stang).

notice that big white thing strapped in the back seat on the left hand side. that is probably what's weighing down the left rear so much. and notice that they're using RS doors. and, even though they're using crappy steel rims, they look like 17" rims, so those may be full size tires, it's a little hard to tell though.
probably testing the drivetrain, that makes the most sense. or maybe a new dsg style transmission, they've said numerous times they're very interested in developing something like that for the next evo.

dsg - direct shift gearbox. its a double clutch automatic with paddle shifters (like on f1 cars) that shifts faster than a manual transmission because the second clutch is always spinning, ready to go...
go to www.audiusa.com - select the tt - select dsg - listen to the spiel

EVO X???
doesnt mitsu have a bigger budget than that? atleast the other manufacturers cover up their cars all stealthy. I have my doubts....
you sure thats not some riceboy how is trying to make his evo look like a lancer???
i'd be more inclined to believe that one...

It is stealthy, it's covering up the entire drive train. The other manufacturers do the same thing. The heavily camoflagued prototypes you see are almost ready for production. Mitsu's not at that stage yet. It's not a difficult concept to understand...
hmm...the gas tank lid is moved.. .and has some kind of 3-d geometric figure sticking out of it....very odd.... and why is the back so damn slammed...i hope thats not the new suspension.

Also, check out how the front fenders are so large.
