I noticed there was a bit of squeaking coming from the panel directly on top of the combometer/dash when driving about 3200rpm on the FWY...

So I took the dash apart (pretty easy, let me know if you want help) and then put some short draught seals (5mm thick squishy rubber)...

havn't heard it yet

yay for DIY!

Think it's the part that shows the digital mileometer

For anyone getting the loud knocks in the back end when car shifts weight and its not the sway bar bolts backing out or strut towers and the few others problems that were found. I recently took my car in and after stay for the night they found it was bolts not torqued to spec under back seat. Exact description from dealer:

"Noise coming from left and right side rear cross braces not torqued to spec, and popping when car moved. Retorqued all bolts(10) rear cross braces, and verified repair."

Hope this helps anyone

I fixed my shifter rattle last night. Found the post about pulling the shifter cable off, rotating it, and sliding it back on. Seems to have worked perfect.

Anyone else have a really bad rattle in the armrest/center console?

This thread and this thread cover it pretty well. I rotated it 180 degrees and slid it back on. I didn't notice any difference in shifting even though the one person said it makes 2-3 more notchy. It's really quick and easy to do but if you have big hands like me you'll get a few cuts and scrapes trying to squeeze your hand down there.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had their armrest rattle as bad as me, but I figure out why that was happening too. All 6 screws on the underside of the lid were loose and about to fall out. Tightened them up and no more rattle.

I have recently had a buzz appear in the plastic around the chrome trim of the shift boot. When I press on it just behind the shifter, it goes away.

Usually happens only when in decel.

migs, could you provide more detail. do you need to dis assemble anything to get to these spots? its not a very loud rattle but being that its right next to my ear, it gets annoying.

I was getting a serious rattle from the airbag by your knees under the steering wheel. I took that panel around it off, unbolted the airbag module, carefully rotated to see all the tabs and added felt and felt pads anywhere they were loose or making noise.

This was the worse one in my car so far and it is all gone now.

I'll be doing it to my new car soon, and will provide a walkthrough.
