Thanks for the warning! Yes, that's a very common thing to happen on Evos - Here's what people do to fix it:........

What was he supposed to search anyway? "What things just 'Happen' to Evos?"

Come on guys - Instead of taking an extra 4 minutes to blab on about what he should've done, go make yourself a grilled cheese sandwich.
+1

Sometimes I think its forgotten that we're here to help one another.

I will check there. Thank you for your helpful contribution!

Uh Oh!!! Who let another forum **** in?!?! Apparently you missed the posts from several people that said "Thank you for posting this thread. I wasn't aware of the hoses blowing off either." What you're failling to realize here is that there are new people buying Evos and joining this forum all the time and they therefore don't have the same amount of knowledge about their car as some of the people that have been on here for several years. In fact, I believe the point of having a forum like this is so that people can make statements and post questions to help each other out and learn more about their cars. I personally wish this thread would have been posted on Thursday instead of Friday because then I might have been able to prevent my hose from blowing off Friday afternoon. The OP posted this as a warning to help out people that might not be aware of the issue not so that he could get bashed by people who are. So if you were already aware of the problem then there was no point in you reading past the first post unless you are wanting to post something helpful. Just forget about it and move on with your life. However, those of us that weren't aware are appreciative of the warning, and the help and advice that others have been willing to give.

And I'm having really good night thanks for asking!
see the problem here is FJF actually knows what hes talking about and does help people with problems with his knowledge. i have been around these forums long enough to see that.

but im sure he, and probably just about any other member on here that has been on this forum for years, gets tired of seeing the same questions every week posted over and over. all because people cant search. the search on this forum works very well, you just need to put effort into it. its not just gonna pop up the answer to your question on the screen.

just remember the search button is only as good as the person using it

OK! Try seearching for a problem that you're not aware of and that hasn't happened to you yet and let me know how that works out for you. If you're psychic enough to pull that off then please let me know what the next thing is that is going to break on my car so that I can search for it, get it fixed now, and avoid it in the future. You guys have missed the entire point of this thread which is, as I already stated, to warn those that aren't aware of the problem not to get bashed by those that are. Using the search feature has absolutely nothing to do with that. My issue with FJF was not that he didn't know what he was talking about but for trying to make others look stupid for not knowing as much as he knew.

I tried helping you out, and you're still going on with this crap. There's no hope.

Exactly why I want to invest in hard intercooler pipes rather than stock. Might as well upgrade intercooler too while i'm at it. lol.

well thank you for warning us about a problem that is:

A) almost common sense to check when your dealing with turboed cars
B) a problem that there is MANY MANY MANY topics on in this forum
C) just about 99% of this evo population should know about because of the excess of threads on the subject

I'm not still going on with anything. EvoJoe brought it up again and I was simply trying to explain to him why I had an issue with your previous post at that time. Personally, I've moved on from all of that and I even told you thank you for telling me to check at NAPA and STM so simmer down bro! As a side note, NAPA said they do carry t-bolt clamps but none big enough for the intercooler hose so it looks like I'll be ordering them from STM or some other website. Actually the cheapest place I found them so far was on E-bay.

This was all done with very brief searching. Some of these threads you should have read by now if you took any time to read the vast information available on these forums.

I can see that older members might come off as brash and a little bit insensitive to the plights of other Evo owners. Some would probably consider it tough love though. Because the main point to consider is if EVERYONE started posting threads like this NOTHING would get accomplished. The forums would be overloaded with newb questions that have been answered 1000 times before.

Also get to know other Evo owners. Like I've said I've had 2 different Evo's do this same EXACT thing a couple of times. As scary as the sound is it's great to find out it's only the piping coming loose and not your engine taking a vacation.

No offense to the OP or anyone else that is just asking a simple question. Just when you've been here for a long time and you see the same questions get asked over and over again it tends to get a bit old. Especially when you find that there are most certainly answers to 99% of these simple questions. Unless this is the first time you've ever been on a car forum searching is a pretty common reply on all forums because of these reasons.

Thanks to the OP for the warning and don't be afraid to ask questions. Just make sure that the question merits starting a completely new thread and it's not better posted in an existing thread. Or better yet solved with a little bit of research.
