should i purchase this evo..
if they told you to take the turbo off so u dont hear the whine that would be enough for me to raise a big RED FLAG that they dont know s***
bring it to a real mechanic to have it looked at, and then bring it in for warranty repair so you know exactly what needs to be done

yea, so i called them today. the driveshaft parts were replaced and the noise is still there, they said that they think it might be the transfer case haha. but they cant tell because the noise is coming from several places, the guy talked to his service manager and is gonna request to take it to the local mitsubishi dealership. Hopefully they will tell them the problem and hopefully get me some good parts instead of used transfercases that were probably ragged on. but i gotta wait till monday.
it sucks because im driving a gst right now, i just fixed the alternator and now i think the slave cylinder is leaking but its too cold out here to work on it. ill have to wait for a warm day to fix it and just bum rides off of people for now.

okay i talked to the dealership again today and they are finally taking it to the mitsubishi dealership. Do any of you know if mitsu uses used parts. I figure they will insist on getting new parts for it.
so i picked the car up yesterday after they rebuilt the rear diff, and yup it was still whining. took it right back in, they are so frusterated with the car. but its ridiculous that they cant realize the noise got worse after they replaced the transfer case. they think that because they got a certified used part, it is impossible for the transfer case to be bad. hopefully they will soon replace or rebuild the transfercase for me.
Update
so after about 6 months Of waiting for the dealership to figure out that the transfer case was the problem all along, i ended up getting a new transmission, rebuilt transfer case, rebuilt rear diff, clutch job, drive shaft, and alignment all for free. I got myself a Walbro 255, muse licp, hallman mbc, and a tune at JMS in san antonio and the car feels GREAT, im very glad that i purchased this car. I also recently got the car painted, nose chopped, and blacked out the headlights and painted the tailights red, heres a couple of pics,

now to save up for some wheels and tires, or maybe some more power mods.. dont know yet.

Damn homie. I started off reading this thread and didn't expect it to go in this direction lol. Sounds like you had to deal with a little frustration but it worked out and you ended up with a pretty good deal. Car looks good!
