People had their doubts when the X was coming out... I'm sure everyone will have doubts when the Evo Hybrid unveils... but I'm positive it will surprise us all, and in a good way =D

This is VERY different then just not liking the way a new car looks! You cant compare it to how the X was hated now its liked. This will have a major effect on the performance capability, tuning and all the aftermarket parts distributers. This is a HUGE change. I guess i might have to get a DBBK!!! A DURACEL BIG BATTERY KIT!!!!! HAHAHA

^ It is a big change... but FOR SURE you won't know what the performance, tunability, and aftermarket support is going to be till it actually comes out. I could care less about everyone's speculation... all we know is this: The evo just got better and better with each new generation (generally speaking)... I expect nothing less with the new hybrid concept.

0 - 62MPH (100 Kmh) in a blistering 5.7 seconds?

We'll be getting owned by soccer moms in their SUVs.

5.7 stock isn't that bad, as long as it'll have the same SAWC/handling capabilities and returns 26/30MPG city/highway EPA... I say that's a pretty decent tradeoff compared to the current Evo's 0-60 in 5.2 seconds but returning 16/22 MPG EPA.

Think about EVERY company that relies on the evo for cash. It is very sad to see they feel they need to make a hybrid when other companies are belting out 15mpg cars ASAP before there is a law against it. This is a huge mistake. Might as well take a mini van and make it a mini cooper next year. It loses its whole point.
The Tesla is not a hybrid accord.
I'm pretty sure the actual performance numbers for the hybrid version of gasoline based cars (ie Camry, Accord, LS/GS, Highlander) are slightly better then the all gasoline version. Lets just wait for Mistubishi to disappoint us or wow us.

I looked into Camry Hybrid for my wife. The electric motor puts out 40Hp peak and add 199ft-lbs of lowend Torque. That is in a fuel economy car.

Imagine a 4B11T with a bigger turbo and having Hybrid Electric motor to help eliminate the turbo lag. Anyways I will consider a Hybrid Evo when they come out. It might be a little heavy, but I would be interest to see what a performance hybrid can do. It would definately be a big selling point to my wife.
