I thought it was a finished product as far as changing maps in seconds. I don't know anyone who'd spend 4 1/2 minutes putting a car in Valet Mode, eat dinner, and then spend another 4 1/2 minutes to flash it back.

Btw, can you guys work on answering your tech support email? I'm pretty sure I should be seeing more than a 0-10hp gain with a 93 flash.

Thank you.

Fair enough. I think it is a finished product but I certainly agree enhancements can always be made. Be it the AccessPORT, iPhone, or the International Space Station... addressing issues and performing enhancements based on how the users actually work with the product is an exciting phase of product development.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions, we're always eager to get them.

As for the tech support email, not in my immediate domain but an appropriately large 'fire' has been lit. We'll get it responded to ASAP.

Cheers,
Trey @ COBB

Just to be clear, I was speaking only of changing maps in seconds as far as being finished. Among the features offered was "Change maps in seconds". Well, it was 471 seconds the first time I timed it. 468 the next time.

I don't plan on ever using Valet Mode. I like the different maps because 93 octane is not available everywhere. My first Evo was flashed to 91 for that reason even though 93 is available in my town.

My bigger concern though is the lack of power increase I've seen and also when I tried the 91 octane realtime flash my car boosted to over 25psi.

CDO, you are welcome to PM me so that we can keep this thread to the subject as intended by the author. I am more than happy to address you concerns. I am a bit confused that the 91 octane calibration overboosted since that calibration actually has less wastegate duty cycle programmed in it than the 93 octane calibration. I am more than happy to help, go ahead and PM or e-mail me christian@cobbtuning.com. Be sure to identify yourself so that I know who I am speaking with.

Take care,
Christian.

IA / COBB---

I am just curious if since the title of this thread is about the initial release and DYNO results...

At this point all that has pretty much been covered and there shouldn't be anything new to report in terms of dyno results until Pro-Tune is out.....

and this thread has turned into a place of new AP user revelations and IA/COBB feedback of Q&A....

Should we now create a new thread just to cover the user Q&A with COBB....

I just think that if there are things that are coming up and everyone (general) can benefit it should be available instead of "one to one" passing of info.

OF course we could all move over to the COBBFORUMS....but it just seems like more action takes place here.

Just a Suggestion.........Hope everyone has a great weekend...play safe!!!

Thanks. I think I will email you a quick question. I just replied to an email from your tech guy, Justin and forgot to ask him.

Btw, I made a mistake in my previous post. I did not boost to over 25psi. I don't know what I was thinking. I boosted over 1.5 which is ~23 psi.

I actually created this thread a while back. Would this work well for you?

Christian.

Yeah that would be fine.....I thought that that thread was more like a STICKY type thread with all COBB info...not anything to respond to.....

Also COBB guys, any ETA on the release of the Pro-Tuner software? I am going to need a tune next month and I was hoping to take my car to P&L since it is relatively close to me for the work.
Anyone?

If your buying an EVO next year might as well buy an Evo X.

CPA5 - Did you get the STRI guages yet? I just bought the STRI DSD boost, EGT, and Oil press. Should be installing them next week with the other goodies.

IA has the gauge now....I only got the boost gauge (60mm white face/red lettering up to 30psi readout)....Steven said he'd be able to get it installed next Tues/Wed for me.

I am hoping to mount it on the passenger side Transmission Tunnel right next to the Cigarrette lighter faced on an angle towards the driver's seat....I saw some kid have 2 gauges mounted there from a feature in Modified Mag and really like that spot.

Anywho...good choice on the STRI...they look sweet and are like $60-$70 bucks less than the DEFI

Let me know how your install goes....I may add the oil pressure as well
