I will only get full boost of about 19 psi, spiking to 21 occasionally, with a taper down to 17-18psi.

Any hints?

IA, have you seen this issue occur more then once? Is it something that all the 93 octane stage 2 people will see??? Will i need the COBB boost line since i will use the same as tvor.

I've heard that (too) that there is no top speed limiter on Evo's, but I've also heard there were. On my first Evo I had it flashed before ever finding out which was true.

The other limiter I was talking about was maximum revs; raised from the stock 7,650 to whatever the tuner sets it at/customer asks for. I forgot all about the stationary rev limiter, but I believe that can be bypassed (if one wishes to) simply by unhooking it.
IA could chime in...but I am fairly sure that Stephen/COBB said that the base flash is "Re-mapped" up to the 7650 fuel cut....I'm fairly sure it isn't raised passed that but that things have been "tweeked" up to that point.

I didn't let Stephen at IA do the pulls on the dyno passed 7000-7200 as I am a COMPLETE WUSSY and when driving around I never let revs go passed 7k.

I guess I'm hoping if I'm gentle like a girl my EVO will love me more

THeEvolutioner--

hope you don't mind I thought I would add my 2cents on this.

I think that unless you are using a boost controller the secondary pill needs to be pulled 100% of the time for the COBB map to adjust the boost that they built in to the changes.

I believe that right now COBB/IA will even send out a new line that has that pill removed and the primary pill modified in order to reach the specified targets.

SO once again it makes to transition pretty plug n play

You jogged my memory. I do remember reading that about mapping to 7650. They must leave it at stock limit. That's fine with me.

A motor has mechanical limitations no matter what it is controlled by. You will not gain power by virtue of a standalone. The only advantage a standalone may have over a stock ECU would be individual cylinder control. Honesty standalones are for cars with very custom setups and rarely have a place in a street driven vehicle. They, in general, don't deal well with changes in temp, elevation, and barometric pressure. They are good at redundant failures when, say, racing. If you have a very custom race car, by all means do what you need to do.

If you are going to a standalone for power reasons alone, you may want to reevaluate your EM path. This is not to say you should buy an AP, just a little friendly advice that may save you time, money, and headache.

For those with questions about their boost targets, please download the map notes for your specific map here:
http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?ID=3506

If you are not hitting the targets as specified by the map notes for the specific map you are running, you may need COBB boost lines. You can get them from either Cobb or IA free of charge.

CDO: I thought I posted this yesterday, but must have not hit Post. Stock speed limit is set to roughly 315. I.E. removed now

evox7- first for me to hear of, please email rob@cobbtuning.com and see what they have for you. I'm assuming the AP functions properly in all other aspects, which would rule out a bad cord?

Would there be a problem with buying a secondary usb cable to hook up from the original connector hooked the obd2 port to the AP....so when I shut off the car instead of unplugging the cable from the bottom of the AP I can just unhook from a middle point?

Also, If I don't use the car for like a week (with the AP unplugged) but the main connectors still plugged into OBD2 port...could that pontentially drain my battery?

Thank you.

I guess there's no need to worry about that until they come out with Stage 30.

Several of our guys leave the dongle plugged in while daily driving. I personally wouldn't leave the dongle plugged for more than a day or two without use of the vehicle.

FYI...in case anyone cares.....

I had left the car sitting unused for 4 straight days......the dongle for the AP was plugged into the OBD2 but I didn't have the actual usb hooked into the AccessPORT.....my concern was would this drain the battery.....of course I had this concern only after I left the car sitting for 4 days...aka I'm retarded

Well I just rushed home to start the car up and thank GOD it started!!!!

I do have a just installed odyssey battery so I don't if that made a difference.
