hotshot: Did you have the Pressure Treated Technologies 2.5" Downpipe w/ Wastegate Recirculation custom made? I need to get mine recirculated. Also, what type of gaskets are you using? I'm assuming it would be copper type at 2-1/4 inches right?

No group buy - it's custom.

Fully custom w/ wastegate recirculation. I bought new 2.5 inch gaskets and had the stock flanges honed out to 2.5 inches. I didn't put copper gaskets in there, only on my wastegate cause thats the only one that has gone so far and itw as because on eo fthe bolts came loose from the heat and the wastegate was leaking and the heat just destroyed the gasket, so i got copper there.

Perfer email but you can call. It would be best to discuss it. As for your free upgrades, Ask DOOKIE.

Sorry so late for the post, but I have been busy and not on these forums. First off and in my defense, the problems went away when I took Stage 2 off and went back to Stage 1. The problem I had was running rich at idle, causing a P0172 code. I did mess with the settings of the piggyback by leaning out the A/F ratio, and it helped a lot, but did not make the CEL go away--it just took longer for it to come on. If you don't mind a CEL, then you will be fine. I just could not pass emissions because of Nevada's rules. HotShot's car is running this same P0172 code and he does have a CEL.

To me, the CEL is not acceptible because of the fact I specifically asked this prior to purchasing the turbo. I would not have wasted my money on this if it did come on, and that's probably why they told me it didn't--to get the sale. Since I was very new in the turbo market, I took their words as if they were gold. They seemed to have the Lancer market wrapped up and it appears they still do.

What it comes down to is that I did not do enough investigation before making the decision to purchase. I can't really blame anyone but myself for the decision to purchase, but the quality of the product should also be in question as well. There's many details I can go into, but I choose not to talk about them here.

Point is, IF MY CAR WAS THE PROBLEM, THEN WHY DID IT GO AWAY WHEN STAGE 2 WAS REMOVED AND WHY DID THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO HOTSHOT?

I myself never had any check engine lights... but there are a few others as well that don't and some that do. I don't really understand it either.

The only thing i can say about the check engine light is as follows...

First you turbo a car that wasn't meant to be turbo'd... then you upgrade it's injectors for even more boost... then you modify certain parts on the car in order to make it perform under boost... well then you should expect a check engine light.

I know tones of honda guys that live with check engine lights all day long since they did motor swaps or turbo'd their cars. Somehow they understand that you can't have it all when modifying a stock car way past anything considered light. Amazing how much Honda bashing can be done on these boards, especially by me, but i have to give them credit when it comes to modifying a car and getting a CEL. They don't go nuts over it... they expect it!!

Guess guys not worried about a CEL should stick with Stage 1 turbo and guys that want the power and don't mind a possible CEL should get the Stage 2.

If passing emmisions is a concern you can always switch from STAGE 2 to Stage1 turbo easily... anyway we could cry all day long about these subjects and not solve a thing. I think my above statements put things in the best perspective.

Dookie was like the 3rd guy to get STAGE 2 anyway... besides myself the other guy had never reported a cell. Thus to RRM there was no issues. Stating they said that just to make a sale is uncalled for. Especially when we did a lot of work for you at no charge in order to try and get things straight for you... guess that service wasn't even recognized huh?

Boe,

You are right about the people not wanting a possible CEL to stay with Stage 1 and vice versa. That's all I am trying to say. That's all I have been trying to say.

As far as work done at no charge, I don't specifically remember anything that would be deemed "free". I drove down there because I was told you all were going to slap a wideband on it and see what was going on. That never happened and the only thing that did was Rob and you drove the car around the block a few times.

Like you said, we can keep going around and around like this, but its old and over. I have moved on and it looks like you all have too. The only reason I posted is because someone brought it to my attention that Rob was saying something about me that was not entirely too true.

I am really sorry about your lack of satisfaction. You know how hard we woirked with you to try to resolve the CEL. Your comment that you were mislead is false though. That implies that we knew it would happen to you. Your Stage 2 was prolly the 3rd one. If we had known that you would get a CEL we would not have worked so hard on it after your install. Point is simple though, up to then we had never had a check engine light on stage 2. When people asked we told them that. When you got one, we more than tried to resolve it via dozens of long distance phone calls, dozens of emails, sending you all sorts of parts including OEM stuff like o2 senors etc at our cost to try to resolve it. Guess what? Stage 2 cause CEL. That is what we found out. We thought we resovled it again. But guess what? Stage 2 may cause CEL. considering the complexity of it, that ain't bad. Hell ,a header alone cause a CEL. That is just one simple bolt on too. We really did try to resolve it. You know that too. People who wnat to go fast don't worry about CEL. Look at fast EVOs or just about anything else modded. When they are flashing past look at the dashboard of their car, prolly gonna see CEL. You are right about one thing. It was not your car that was the problem. We only found that out after Hotshot ran his car for a while though. So I spoke too soon saying it may have been your car. I feel OK regardless of your feelings cause I know we worked hard to make you happy. So hard that we prolly lost money in the long run. That is OK though.
Nothing more to say about it. Hotshot is happy though!
