WTF is this? First one gets my affection. Has the letter AFO and Adjustable Flow... did a google search and didn't pull up anything that made sense. Just some Engenering mumbo jumbo.

Looks like a manual boost controller that goes on the vacuum line between the wastegate and the turbo.

And I'm particularly greatful for the latter... withou the help from folks like you I'd be in some serious ****.

I went to autozone today to pic up various odds and ends. Still need to order the right gaskets for the wastegate, I think I need a 35-38mm gasket? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I hope those instructions you are sending Kunfugirl are going to help me finalize my list. I'm sure they will. Just getting anxious for all this to be put so I can start tuning etc.

I would get the spark plugs and some Mobil 1 Full synthetic oil. No reason to go to a lesser quality oil. There is this HUGE myth that synthetic oil will blow up our cars when in fact it just is a far superior oil. Better lubrication, better heat transfer, more detergant etc. Look at the cars that use synthetic. From people's DD's, to 300-400HP street cars all the way to race cars. Synthetic is the only oil the powerful cars will run.

RRM recommends non-synthetic oil, people have blown their engines and it was attributed to oil starvation caused by the oil pump not working properly with synthetic.

is there a replacement oil pump that will work with synthetic? I would feel a hundred times safer running synthetic in my motor. I have been running it for about a year and a half with no problem. It's just smart to to run synthetic oil with a turbo kit.

I am aware of the property's that make synthetic a better oil for the car, but on a turboed lancer, it is best to run the 20/50 non synthetic oil. Our oil pups have a hard time according to RRM and about 4 people on here who have blown **** up after they used synthetic over dinosour compound.

was it 100% fact that it was the oil? And why hasn't the dealer said the oil pump has had problems.

Because the dealer has no reason to say that, once you turbo the car they don't have to give a rats ***.
