but what is the difference. Wouldn't the problems be the same with synthetic without the turbo as well?

The problem is associated with the extra heat that the turbo produces. The hotter the oil, the less viscous the oil.

Not to newbies. In anycase, I'm going to go pick up the oil this week and anyother odds and ends. I'm really super nervous about this install... this my one and only car so if things go bad it won't be a good thing.

N1te, a friend from the boards and in the real world, has said he will help me with the install. Which is good for me because without him I'd blow something up.

I'll take as many pictures as I can. I'm actually thinking of doing the install over a three day weekend. We'll see how it all works out.

I need to take a picture of the this one hose that came with my kit... thing looks like it was just hacked off with a saw. I took it to Advance auto and the guy behind the counter just looked at me like I was nuts.

It almost looks like a garden hose, no joke, with metal piping inside of it. I have no idea what the hell it could be. Let me get a pic of it tonight and show you guys.

By the way Kungfu- how does the manual boost controler work?

I think the oil pump thing is myth .... however, what are the part numbers for the oil pumps in Lancers. If they are the same as Mirages, I have my doubts.
