no one, that i can think of, ever tried useing it.. thats why i ask.. only reason i could see it not working is because of the dohc difference. and the ecu itsself is a big step forward over ours on tuning.

if the dohc is the only issue, i was simply asking if a 4g92(or w/e else) dohc swap fix that issue, and if that is the only issue, but seeing that no one (that i know of) has tried it, i dont know what other reasons why it wouldnt work.

and on previous versions of other mitsu cars, ecu swaps are very common.. even with a standalone, we use the same kits as an evo..

im sure its never been tried, and ive searched it a few times, never turned up anything worth reading..

The differences between the two engines are too numerous for the ECU to run the engine properly, if even at all. Others have tried this swap in the past and have given up, that's all I'm saying. I don't know the exact reason, but I'm guessing DOHC vs. SOHC, or turbo vs. N/A or differences in the sensor signals or sensors installed on the Evo that are missing on the Lancer.

In regards to standalone ECUs, all the sensors are calibrated before the tuning even starts. They adapt to the signals that they are fed with to learn how to run the engine they are hooked up to. I've installed an AEM EMS on my car in the past and tuned it.

Just my 2 cents on the matter. If someone can succeed where others haven't, I'm all for it.

SORRY is all i can say....been rele busy with work so that i could get money to fix my car.

so for update- in the past 2 weeks i have seen a considerable loss in power and am prolly experiencing boost leak. Havnt rele had time to work on it yet as im in virginia on a job. Another problem im having is a whole in my radiator. If anyone has one please let me know, its blocked temporarily with an egg but im not driving it till i get a new one.

I got tien lowering springs that are going on next week. I have to get a better fan bc the one i bought from advanced for 50 is not strong enough at all.

absolutely still loved the car when it had its power and is deff worth it specially when u feel it pull. i beat a dsm 1g, rsx, eclipse gt, mustang, scion tc, 07 civic, 08 cobolt, f350 super duty td..?..lol going 120 in no time.

but yea my leak is rediculous, its from my BOV, it hit into it.i loose a gallon in like half an hour!!!!

I got a brand new greddy 2.5 inch full exhaust, cat back for sale still in box 450...ill get more info when i get back. saving a lot with this.

Check ebay for the radiator. They have them on there all the time. I got mine from there it was $75 plus shipping. I have had it on the car for over a year now without a single problem.

P0421 Is a code dealing with your cat, if its gone that could be why its coming on. That code actually as a recall stapled to it for our cars ( at least stock ones) I had to take mine in and they flashed my ecu and put a brand new cat on for me about a year and a half ago
