Try a wet test to see if your cylinder pressure increases. 96000 miles is a pretty high amount. And every engine wears differently based on numerous factors experienced throughout the course of the miles it accumulated.

ok well my ecu should arrive in the mail this weekend or whatever. gonna start to look for a block to build bc thats my best bet. and there was this little orangy brown thing on the intake manifold on the left side by the fuel rail that was leaking. we took it off and the car seems to run fine. dont know what it is lol but i guess i dont need it. No CEL after 80 miles and about 2 hours of driving. some power back
What did you do? Just pull that thing off and things are getting better? Very interested to see how the new ecu does, if it works out I might just get one too
my injectors and fuel pump came in yesterday

yea thats what im thinking, its gonna come on eventually considering my cat is gone but im gonna make a anti fouler for that and solve that problem.
is there a problem that i dont have that thing on. it was leaking air so thats why we took it off.
well if senate has gotten this ecu to work then i can too hopefully and its deff gonna be worth it and better than paying for an aem.

So is you car running alot better then? Looks like I couldnt stick to my year timeline lol Its only been a month and a half and have gotten about 50% of the parts haha darn it anyways.
Just curious, where is the crankshaft position sensor that needs to be disconnected?
Its located on the passenger side, on the back of the engine right next to the timing cover. Follow the harness from the coil pack as it travels downward and you'll find the connector. The connector is actually the same type as the one that goes into the coil pack.

alright so i got the antifouler on my secondary o2 sensor and i fixed 2 broken studs. didnt reset the ecu but the CEL did go OFFFF. whoo hoo haha and my car does feel much better. But im juist happy i dont have to see that annoying orange light. also that solenoid isnt affecting anything i guess and i switched my gas back to 87 and my gas milelage has increased again. any takes on why its gotten better, is our car not meant to be run on 93. i ve noticed a few times that my mileage gets worse after 2 tanks of premium and then i switch back to 97 and it gets better. idk
