I would go for it man! seriously for only 200 + shipping! or just go pick it up!

Estimated Time: 13 hours 24 minutes Estimated Distance: 814.66 miles

1,630 miles, it would take roughly 5 tanks for you to drive out in your car at 30 mpg.
Ave fill up = 25.00 - 30.00... Total $125-$150 in gas.. plus food... total $175.

So now find out how much it'll cost you for them to ship it to you, and see which one more cost effective.
You wouldn't get 30MPG on the way back with the added weight of the motor. You'd get closer to 25-27MPG.

Haha, very good point!

Might wanna add about $15-$25 dollars more for the extra weight for the trip back. Haha

I've had my block and head in my trunk separated, but never together. I did have to be careful putting my block in because of its odd shape. I don't think you're gonna be putting it in the back seat.

Maybe someone can chime in if they've transported a 4G9x engine in a Lancer.

Hmm, well 240 shipped to you isn't so bad, you have another full motor for 440... Or if you drive out to get it you can inspect it b4 you buy.. not much you can inspect if its not hooked up tho.. up to you dude. Figure that you will spend about 200 to get out there and get it, but if your driving you car, and its already having problems.. maybe shipping it would be a better choice.

ok im getting the engine the end of this week! and i did the compression test today for 10 seconds with all the sparkplugs out and i got 180. Now this is what i was thinking. im running 5 pounds max now, no spikes, no nothing. i was running 7 with spikes from 9 to 11, 11 being rare. how much HP would 1 pound add bc that might be another problem. we changed the way my vacuum lines run and since then ive just had 5.

You might have a faulty boost controller. On my 16G6 I started out running 5psi on just the wastegate spring. Then I installed a boost controller and upped it to 8psi, then 10psi, then 12psi. Each time I had no spikes.

A 1psi increase would add roughly 10hp. How do you have your vacuum lines run for the BOV and for the boost controller?

im not running a boost controller, just the actuator and i think the actuator was just a bit sticky or stiff when i first had the car going and now its just working normal. i guess i could put my boost controller on and up the boost again but im not sure. actuator to jpipe. bov to intake manifold.

Hmmm... So you were at 7psi, with 2-4psi spikes and now you're at 5psi all on just the wastegate? Yikes. Well if it's settled off you might as well install your boost controller again and retune for 9psi or so.

Question for ya, awhile back you showed a pic of the free forge wastegate gaskets did these come with your spring? Or did you just call and ask for them?

So you got 10:1 wiseco pistons but you're going to use a decomp gasket?
Why didn't you just get the proper CR pistons?

He probably doesn't plan on running more than 17-18psi.
