Yet another thread about Turboing a 03 lancer.
Evo's looks to be in about the same spot, right in the middle. Most guys with tubular evo manis have the upper hose made of all metal it seems, not many with rubber....probably due to heat, but I wonder if there are aftermarket ones that fit ours?

I know there are aftermarket ones that will fit I just dont want to buy brand new If I dont have to. I might have to go the old fashioned way, bust out my tape measure and get all the dimensions then go fishing in the yards lol.
Hornstar, did you get a chance to test those settings? I did not get a chance to, I ended up having to pull my steering column out today when my steering wheel literally fell into my lap. Luckily I could still drive just fine but wtf? Turns out there is a bracket that slips into two grooved aluminum peices that are bolted to the dash support. The bracket has slipped out of these peices and now even if I slide them back in they will fall out. I thought about welding it but isnt it hard to weld aluminum to steel? Not mention I know jack about welding. Was thinking about jb weld but idk if that would be strong enough to hold it from sliding out. Thought about drilling holes and bolting it but idk if there is enough material on the aluminum pieces to drill and still have the integrity. The four circles looks like where the factory basically pressed the aluminum onto the bracket to hold it there. Any ideas would be very much appreciated guys I want to do this without breaking those pieces and having to buy another column.

thats a pretty common issue with Lancers. (i believe just the 02-03 models, base models)
my buddies lancer did it all the time. and he broke the little aluminum pieces by accident while fixxing it.. Something gets loose in the steering column allowing it to shift that Inch or so to allow it to fall off the aluminum pieces. U just need to mess with it a little while untill u get it to stay. Only other thing i can think of is replaceing those little aluminum pieces with some self tapping screwed or soemthing along those lines.
Oh.. U can get it to stay in position without doing anything. But u will have to mess with it a while, and hope that when u tighten it all down it stays. (its a pain in the ***)

Its been about 4 years now with no issues .

Ok so I just finished up my steering wheel fix. The thing is solid as a rock now. Drilled some holes through the aluminum and steel then stuck some really small bolts through just for more support then put JBweld around the sides and around the bolts themselves to keep everything nice and tight. Letting the car idle right now to relearn.

Yes you knew I put that auto steer in there while I was at it didnt you demon? lol Nah bro you have to pull the battery unless you want a face full of airbag when you try to pull it off haha. I pulled the column clean out of the car. So I had to let the car relearn idle.

Just thought I would update. It has been just over a week since I fixed the steering wheel and she is rock solid
I dont think I will be having anymore issues with it now thankfully. Also pulled out those 3 little buttons for rear defrost, a/c and recirc. The rear defrost button I could hardly ever get to work and the a/c button was now almost as bad. I found by just taking those two buttons to my bench grinder and shaving the backside down flush with the surface that actually pushes on the rubber piece fixed those problems as well they both work great now.

This morning i spent literally 4 min trying to get the rear defroster to turn on, you really have to play with it it seems. Ill try the idea of grinding the backside down a bit!

Hey guys I need some suggestions, my car is misfiring BAD when in boost. Pulled the plugs and they look golden so its not the plugs. Did some logging while trying to boost and nothing out of the ordinary shows in the logs despite real bad misfire and even a backfire. Highest knock count is 4. My afrs are perfect 11.3-11.4. Off boost the car runs like a top plenty of power (for n/a) if I floor it while off boost but as soon as I start building 5+ psi I have to let off dunno what the deal is. I am going to do some tests but any and all suggestions are welcome. Kinda making me nervous lol.

yes! you must let the steering wheel rel-learn!!
