No problem. All seems to be good though now. Just have to use the right recipe.

I wish we could make a stronger chain for the trans so I talked to the best in the U.S. and they say it is not worth it to make and very difficult. I tried for the sake of the CVT community.

the kits detuned adds about 50 h.p. to stock and makes a lot of torque down low so it is quite responsive.

the risk of slapping a turbo on our cvts
please rate between 1-10
1 being the safest, and 10 being the riskiest.

PLEASE RATE ROCK!

the company that makes them arent really the best people to ask fyi.

i would say 7.5-8 for an experienced person with modding cars and has owned a turbo car before

for someone whos its their first car or first boosted car 8.5-9

No experience with CVt means no experience. I would not have ventured a guess until I did it! I am going say it is a 3-4 at low boost FROM REAL EXPEREINCE WITH MITSUBISHI LANCER CVT.

Just dont be an idiot, do not beat the crap out of the tranny. Yes there is a risk turboing the CVT, you cant really put a number on it because nobody knows how the next is driving it. If you turbo the car, do not beat up the tranny. If you dont know what im talking about then you probably shouldnt get a turbo if you have a CVT transmission. With any car you should try not to kill the tranny all the time, this isnt just for CVT :P

You said it. Don't be an idiot and beat it too hard. If you drive it sanely you should be fine for a long time.

i wouldnt say that, you should know that having a RA, the SST and the evo MR itself is put through a lot of track time, its a track beast and the tranny can take a good beating, i know a couple of people with MRs who beat the hell out of the car on the track and on the streets with no problems, the diff between that and the CVT is it was not made for performance whatsoever, more economy more than anything, the SST was made for performance. im sure during the testing days of the SST they beat it until they couldnt anymore
