Talking They're here!

So after all this time of me telling you guys what was going on and what I was planning and the waiting I have something to show you!

REAR CALIPER BRACKETS!

Now, just have to get the rest of the brake parts in. Soon guys! I think MM is waiting on me to fit up before he starts taking request so try to hold on a little longer.

These are steel and not aluminum and the parts in the bag are for the e-brake cable.

Please dont pm me about price, send those questions to him.

For those who want to get a jump on gathering parts...

You will also need a pair of 91-94 dsm rear brake calipers from a fwd car
along with brake pads and 91-92 Galant VR-4 rear rotors.

You will also need front brake lines from a 94-98 Galant or 95-99 dsm with the matching banjo bolts and copper washers.

That should be it!

You guys know I'm going to do my best and do a how to. It might take me a little time since I like to cake up with my girlfriend on the weekends. But il will be here.

Oh, and the plastic piece in the picture? Evo oil cooler duct that Im going to apply to my "tranny cooler".

Sorry guys. I'm having a hard time finding a decent set of calipers & brackets that aren't crusty as he'll and won't cost an arm and leg.

I've tried rock auto already. I know car-part . com but the closest yard is an hour away and they can't tell me what kind of shape they're in.

Any suggestions?

Can't you just get them from 89MirageMan for a low price?

I'm planning to do the install this week; I'll let you know how it goes.

Huh? He supplies the mounting hardware, not the calipers. When I started looking he suggested rock auto but they are steep and most want a core.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a dsm just a rebadged eclipse? Shouldn't the parts be the same?

Not sure about all the correct parts, but for an extra 75$ (225$ total) 89MirageMan got me the calipers, the brake lines and the brake pads.

What's this?! Am update? So I took Petes advice and asked mm about the calipers. He sent them to me so I got them all painted up and ready to go on.

I know! Took me long enough. I just have to grind off that nub on the calipers and get the brake lines at my local salvage yards and I guess I'm ready.

I saw a proportioning valve off of a 4 disk 2G which I believe will work fine. Hopefully. They're aren't any 1Gs around here.

My main concern is wondering about upping the master cylinder. I see people doing it for the 2 piston front swap along with the rear swap but my fronts are 4 piston. So now I'm wondering about that.

Finally I'm researching as much as I can before I tackle it this weekend. I'd like to know why Petes brakes locked up so I can avoid that. Otherwise I'm shooting for this weekend!

Good timing! My car is at the garage today and I'm getting the "front brakes locking" problem resolved. If it happens, you'll know it right away my brake pedal was super hard with no play.

The issue is that the rod in the brake booster needs to be shortened up to the point that your new master cylinder fits on your brake booster without forcing it.

So you just need a 7mm deep socket to make it shorter till the master cylinder don't need to be forced on. (got this from Link62)

So you had to take off the brake booster to turn a rod inside to shorten it a bit? That's what I'm understanding?

You do not need to take off the brake booster. Once you take off your old master cylinder, you can see that rod and shorten it. Then you just need to bolt your new master cylinder.

Apparently my mechanic had to grind it a bit because he was not able to screw more... my pedal is still pretty stiff, but at least my brakes do not lock anymore!

Link62 and krisgoodwin84 did the master cylinder swap and I don't think they ran into any issues.

Def take pics man, I am following behind you as soon as I can man. My car is looking to be needing a refresher on many things.

If you can take detailed pics of how you run the lines to the back that would be awesome as well as the cylinder swap.
