Update

2 new things.

First up I was chatting with a few of the Evo guys in my city turns out one had a perfectly good back seat that they didnt want. For the low price of $0! lol I said I'll be seeing you tomorrow!

Never was interested in the rear seats, but for free? I'll take em! These will match the front Evo Recaro's I have.

And I ended up coming into a little extra funding since my birthday just past and Tuesday I pulled the trigger on that 4bar! It was coming from California and USPS tracking was not showing anything but an electronic slip made. Went to the mailbox and noticed a box, thought "What the eff?" and said Ermahgawd!

That was some nasty quick shipping! So this Monday at the latest (if everything goes to plan) I will be speed density! Hopefully able to get some fuel in this b!tch.

So why exactly is speed density better? I did a little research and and still having trouble weighing the cons and pros of both.

Well, I hear you wont gain massive horsepower but if you daily drive your car you will notice a difference. The car will respond much better.

But the main reason I went this route it the Lancer Big maps have an issue with a fuel limit. Manual guys dont run into this issue because they use an Evo ROM. Autos arent so lucky. So in the higher loads things start to get hairy. SD roms dont seem to have the fuel limit. So, in order for me to have a consistent tune...Speed Density.

Dont get me wrong though. My old ROM was pretty sharp.

Edit: Oh! I forgot to mention. It's done

The car definitely has different characteristics. I have to tinker with this for a while.

but but... Two bovs move the air quicker for quicker power! Lol yeah it's like that for now. The aluminum intake I had didn't fit quite right so it's going to have to hold like that for a while. I have a plug for the stock intake that I can seal it with but I'd rather not half ruin a perfectly good intake. So I'll just be extra ricey for a little while. Lmao

Man, that set up isn't clean at all. I don't like all the worm clamps. Looks nasty to me. I'll have to marinate on a better solution.

Side note: progress sway bar was ordered over the weekend. I'm thinking of asking beautiful punk to fab me up some stronger perches since we can't get them from rrm anymore.

So uh yeah; Jeez dude you werent joking about this. The very first thing I noticed about SD is throttle response. Its VERY robust during spool. It surprises me. Really punchy. I thought the throttle was good with my MAF set up but man is this different. I was use to the amount of light throttle I'd give on my previous set up but now it's like at the same amount I have definitely committed to move the car. Really good. I didnt think that could get any better.

I'm playing around with what you suggested yesterday grinder and put some pretty aggressive knock control on it and......no knock

OKAY!

So, so far this was a good move. To the other auto guys out there quit dicking around with the MAF and just go this way. Building your own right now? Just immediately go SD. Wasted so much time with the MAF.

I'm going to keep messing around with it and see further though. Good luck with the transmission tuning Grind3r.

Glad its coming along... Tuning the auto maps is a little weird, but I'm getting the hang of it...It'll definitely be aggressive for a ratchet shifter setup...
