i guess the ecu is keeping the evap solenoid open at idle causing a vac leak.

anyone know anything about this? im just going to keep it unplugged for now.

this must be like pentapost or something.

anyways the evap solenoid is clicking and sucking in air everytime it clicks which is very rapidly. which is causing bad vacuum and a bouncy needle.

im keeping it unplugged until i can find the problem. might be looking into a new ecu tho

well i know nobody really reads this thread much anymore but i feel as tho all the tuning i have done for the past couple months has gotten me nowhere. it has just been a waste of time and hundreds of dollars on gas.

i have tried everything from advanced timing to retarding timing and no knock difference. its just random

i have tried evo knock settings with worse luck.

i have tried several latencies and scalings for the injectors and they all seem to bounce back and fourth up and down within the same range.

driving my car is becoming less fun because i have less time for this and need to stop wasting money on gas thats getting me nowhere with my tune.

So my scaling was at 412 and mid fuel trim was 5 so I brought it down to 400u and guess what!? Mid trim went upinstead of down. Awesome.

i might have just came across something that will fix my fuel trim problems. like i have been saying my fuel trims go positive no matter what scaling or latency i use.

i was looking at the airflow/baro table whatever its called in the tephra and my numbers were like 1.02 around there. which would be lean.

then looking at stock lancer and evo roms the tables are around 1.38. so after changing that table my lean startup went away and its actually a little rich.

i have yet to drive enough to see fuel trims change after i reset my ecu. just thought i would get this info out for people possibly having similar problems.

it would be nice if u guys want to respond with what table you are using thanks.

ok well turns out it was just the axis scaling on there and didnt really help.

it seems my maf scaling changes over time is that right?

Cant remember atm. Have you tried switching to forced open loop and run a couple days to see where your cruising afrs are at?

burner read the lean under boost thread. I think it has something to do with the MAF scaling. I started reading it last night and I think that might be my issue at least.

the car doesn't get rich as the RPMs or loads go up. It actually stays about at 15 and leaner.

I got pretty discouraged lately as well, so you aren't alone on your tuning woes. I've since picked back up and am feeling better...but I've still got issues.

With regards to your issues, post your current scaling for injector and battery latency. I will post what I am using, as well as the stock WRX440 numbers.

Stock scaling - 420 or 380 depending on ROM
Volts - ms
------------
6.5 =2.79
9.0 =1.49
11.5 =0.98
14 =0.68
16.5 =0.38

My numbers are in a pic attached, but mine are 425cc I think, from a SAAB. Same engine as the one in the WRX, but the injectors are a different part number so I don't know if they are the same or what. They flowed 425cc though at 12.5v and 45psi.

scaled at 361 for now because im still messing with it but i just fixed my maf scaling it was pretty low for some reason. latency at 14v is like .48 stock because my trims have been fairly close i have tried others with no success.

slater your problem sounds weird but your still on stock maf?? i would really compare some of the stuff in the auto bigmap rom to the stock evo rom and compare the timing in loads less then 100 because it looks way to advanced in the auto map i was checking out.

it seems as tho my maf scaling changes over time because i set it to stock evo but it changes whats up with that?

03lances- i left it in open loop for a little while the other day. other then being a little lean i lowered the scaling but then notice my maf was leanly scaled so im probly running a little more rich. can i tune them in open loop cruise and idle? to be close to what the map says?

Horn I think your latencies are rich compared to the injector scaling and latencies in the evo table I saw that listed. A bunch of settings.
