Lets just hope that noise is nothing. We still need to do some checks on it. Just we did too much in the one day and killed the rest of the weekend.

 

im mad i didnt have the money to buy it off u as a spare for when i launch a rod outa mine.. lol

the noise should be nothing.. valvetrain noise is normal on our motors. exhaust side is all Splash lubricated, and goes away. if a real hardcore rub starts like a thin piece of metal.. its just one of the guides between the plug guides not a big deal

 

How have you not yet with 25psi lol?

 

my motors built to the kilt.. im not expecting it to blow anytime soon since its sitting on an engine stand right now and my engine bay is empty besides.. my motors should be good for 30psi on e85. if we could get my injectors to go beyond 50.4% duty cyle id be there.

basically how it is right now for hopefully only another 3weeks. just havent repaited the engine bay yet. and the trans isnt in it either.(this is old pic, not current, but u get the idea)

Been listening to that over and over without actually watching the vid. its in the head man im almost positive now. No change at all from what I can tell when you were pulling those wires off.

 

did he reuse his head? Is his timing off on the head causing it to make that sound?

 

Timing is spot on. Im guessing one of two things. A lifter got some air in it and is not fully pumping up or one of the rocker arms did not seat properly after we installed the cam. We will get it though

 

Alright guys.. Heard back from paypal and I won the dispute. Im going to call my bank tomorrow and see what they say since with paypal i have to ship it all back no partial refunds..My bank however seems like they might as in my docs for the dispute stated what i was asking for as a partial instead of sending whole kit back and they issued a provisional credit during the investigation for the ammt i asked for. The question for vote is. Do i return everything and buy what im missing from RRM new. Cost will prob be another 6-800 vs having everything at this point. or if my bank will do just a partial keep the kit and take the partial and let the lowlife get away with it?

 

So tonight i took the valve cover off and checked the rocker arms wasnt geting any play on them with the exception of 4 of the arms for the intake valves i got side to side play the rest i couldnt budge. I think this might be the cause of noise but am waiting for 03lances to check his out tomorrow since he had his cover off. I hope thats it since I am not seeing anything obvious. The scrape on the VC looks old to me and I think its normal with our car but not sure. Thoughts? Really want this noise gone.

 

the head I took off my spare motor didn't have any play at all. Either up or down or side to side.

 

Im going to re-torque the bolts today, 03 has that torque wrench as i left it at his place so we are gonna meet up to get it. Turbo goes in this thursday as long as figure all this out so say a prayer lol...

 

dear turboed gods. Please let Ryan's turbo install and tuning go with out a hitch. If you do Ryan will grant you endless listening sessions of BOV going off, turbo spooling up, and tires spinning.

I think the turbo gods hate me. I think RRM has lost another customer at this point. I had talked with Rob many times thru this whole process with getting screwed by the guy i bought the kit from. I also told him flat out I want to support them as I believe RRM has a lot todo with where the earlier lancers are at currently. So here it goes. I talked with Rob when I decided I wanted to purchase a replacement turbo due to the cost to fix the used one was not worth it. I asked him straight out what differences are theres vs. FP Evo 3 Big 16g he stated that they had to "modify it to make it work with there setup". I took Rob at his word and was under the impression everything aside thats what I was getting. BIG MISTAKE. Instead fast forward a week. I get my new turbo. Its another knock off. Not a genuine MHI even. Also to make it better....heres how it arrived.



So I called RRM up right away first I talk with Roman who tells me Mitsu raised the prices of there turbos $100. I was like um ok if thats the case you could have told me. Then I got passed to Brandon who while I understand these choices arent up to them tells me he will do what he can. After that i send an urgent email to Rob & get a call back about 30mins later. This is where I have lost it. I was so furious at this point I cant even remember exactly what I said but I remember two things. Rob saying I need to file a UPS damage claim and if they approve it he will refund me or replace it. (Great but WTF the box doesnt have any damage they just didnt pack it right (used hard foam instead of the peanuts so it would have some give) Also Robs other comment was this is the turbo that comes with our kit. I told him I dont care I paid for a MHI not a ebay knock off. If I wanted a knock off I would have bought it on ebay. So at this point im stuck. The shaft doesnt have any give and spins freely so Im sure he is right that its just the cold side exterior that has any damage. I have already took thurs and friday off this week to finish this damn thing and now I feel like if Forced Performance or Extreme PSI dont have one in stock im stuck with something I didnt want. I seriously feel like someone shot my dog with how being treated after all I have done for RRM and how much I have boasted about them to friend and fellow evom memebers. Rob wants me to call him tomorrow but Im sure its going to be the same answer. Just angry as hell...
