I think JRR used a mixed of evo 8 pipes and the RRM kit before he went with the injen piping. Check his thread and see if it helps you at all.

I think things are starting to come together.... Heres some pics gonna work on it more later tonight but i think i should have it close enough by time 03 gets here we finish last couple small things and take it to the exhaust shop in the morning then tuning the rest of the day.

Also got my leak tester with some more t-clamps. I dont think beading is as big of a deal with t-clamps they are effing tight haha... Can anyone confirm is the bov that direction or is it backwards?

Alright guys...car is back on the road. Ill let 03 sum up the tuning side since he knows way more then me. We didnt have a lot of luck traffic was way heavier then norm so the roads i knew of didnt work and then we saw the popo setting up a speed trap so since the base tune was enough to drive around right now. We are getting some crazy false knock at anything above about 50% idle. Had a bit of a scare with the large blue spring and mbc turned down hit 18lbs of boost before i about crapped my self. Also before that had a blow out of one of the pipes and also scared me lol. We finally found a hose that works better with the 90 elbow i got for the bov. need to take a ride around the block tomorrow and make sure its working ok without any kinks in it. Also had one time where the car just shut off while driving no hose blew out so i dont know what caused it perhaps the false knock was in the 30+count. Anyways so not thrilled with the ic pipes and how they turned out still way low IMO. Pics later for now rest and relax time.

Definitely nice to have it back on the road. We are going to drop in the smaller spring and bypass the mbc to restrict us to 10psi. Once we have a good tune there then we will reconnect the mbc and bump it up and retune. Injectors are pretty well tuned with a scaling at 753 and Steven latencies with a couple tweaks in the 11-16 volt range. We were getting some serious compressor surge and I am confident the return hose on the bov was kinked too much once the hood was shut. Pretty sure we solved that issue right before I left but no time to test it. All in all it went pretty well. I think if we had that smaller spring in there we could have had him boosting yesterday even if only a little . Off to work for me.

Oh yeah and 03 found his missing wrench it somehow was still on the motor mount....

Also can see how much lower my pipes are compared to the 8/9s pipes... So not happy with that as barly can get in and out of my driveway. Im going to get a couple quotes on new pipes as this aint cool...

Also found my rear 02 had one wire hanging by a thread. I have no idea how one strand was enough for keep it from throwing a cel.

Those pipes are way too low guys, how are you not screwing them up on every single speed bump. Also...on my driver's side, I think I'm using a different coupler than 03 is, I'm using his one on the IC up higher on my one near the top of the radiator.

They were made by rrm for the ones on my car ill leave it at that. As far as 03's I dont know. Im going to still pick up a set of 8/9 pipes and see if they will work better. My bigger issue is the BOV i still havent driven it today since we replaced the hose again for the BOV (need to). I am going to try and get quotes for new pipes all together as not happy with em overall. It works but yeah gotta go easy on curbs. Your car looks scraped to hell btw lol.

Well, 2 things...1 is I am not all that careful. 2 is I like in friggin texas, and if it were daylight I'd show you a pic of my driveway. Speedbumps are like 1 foot tall and 4 inches wide in texas, no idea why everyone seems to HATE cars that aren't trucks. Umm, also the reason why I NEVER lower a car, and haven't bought coilovers yet....because I am worried they will lower the car. Also, my muffler has scuffs all on the bottom as well...

Passenger side piping is same height as yours hornstar you just have the OZ lip in front to cover it. As far as the drivers side you are absolutely correct I am using the longer coupler on the bottom. cant remember why I had to do it like that but i did. Very soon I am going to change it to the correct way ive just been dealing with lots of other junk and its one of those things that gets put on the back burner since its not imperative I get it done.

I wish I had 2 of the weird shaped ones, the whole thing would fit better if I did....or if I had a smaller coolant overflow tank.

Yeah its a little anoying geting out of my driveway. im going to angle the tbolts on the drivers side pipe differnt and see if i still scrape slightly. I just did a light test of 4psi on the onramp and I think the surge is gone and its just the sound of the bov. Really anoying not having another person with the pos bosch one i have. I have a 9 bov waiting but its diff size then whats on the rrm pipes so I cant use it yet. Im going to give english racing a call as well as theres a shop here in tacoma they mentioned and get a couple quotes on pipes. I really would rather have the pipes flanged for an evo bov so i can pick what i want instead of guessing what model dsm rrms is from.

Turned the tbolts so they arent scraping any more so now i dont cringe leaving for work. Also still having a bit of problems with idle. Seem like when warmed up rpms dip way low and it stalls out. I need to reset the ecu and let it learn since never did that since we got it runing which im sure is part of my problem. Sent 03 the logs from driving to work as well hopefully he sees something that we can fix with it. For now heres a small pic taking it easy on the car since we dont have the tune anywhere near done but wanted to make sure surge is gone. Sounds ok to me at least at 5lbs

What do you guys think?
