yes they tuned that car on the dyno to get to 222 whp etc... again, that raises the same question as before.. will this be the actualy output that joe blow next door gets when the kit is installed and straight up dyoned with no tweaking. What are the AFR's, what are the fuel management tricks etc... no info.. lots of questions.. no answers!

The black box is set the same way BlazenOZ's is. You should have the same #'s give or take a few. I plan on picking mine up on saturday and insalling it on the weekend. I will dyno it within a month. There should be no tuning neccesary, unless you have cams or other extra work. I know he has a header and exhaust, I have the same so it should be set up right.

Is BlazenOZ's car the "test" car that was used? Give or take a few could be 5 hp it could 20... that's sort of my point with the tune. But I'm also, as I stated earlier in the thread, very cautious and particular when it comes to a fuel system so a "black box" bothers me a lot as it is a large unknown. It matters to me whether it is an FPR, a FMU, some form of piggyback, or something else.

Positive Vendor response and consideration when answering questions = more customers!!

There is already great support for it... now the final pieces need to fall into place and it'll sell like hot cakes!

so if it has a piggyback then has it upgraded the fuel pump as well as part of the kit? If not... then I'm wincing... if they did.. then that's fantastic!

i honestly dont think they're going to answer any questions.....anytime soon anyways. i've spoken with ripp themselves, and they agreed its pretty much pointless posting here anymore. they said they're going to keep their comments and general posts to themselves, because there is so much negativity towards their product. especially coming from turbo'd members ( i guess this is the part were people say "what?... what are they talking about? no one said anything") i see it, and i'm sure other members do too. if people want answers......call them. they're more than helpful over the phone, and will answer any question. from now on they're only going to post when the system is available. other than that they're not going to bother with the constant nagging/bothering/flaming. i see their point. now this is the part where everyone once again starts bothering "well.....with that mentality, they're not going to do good business". i guess we'll have to do what they've always said "we'll let the product speak for ourselves". like they said "if we dont like it, start a rippmods hate thread". on a lighter note, i spoke with vortech themselves at sema, and they told me that ross and his crew DEFINATELY knew what they were doing, when it came to their products. if vortech backs them 100%, i guess that has to count for something. i dunno.

It also has a 2 bar map sensor, Malpassi rising rate FPR with guage and a walboro 255 in tank pump. "no outside tunning necasary". Steve, just go to there site and take a look at everything it comes with. Very very well put together.

ahh... since I haven't been to their site... I suppose that'd help.

I didn't even want to get mixed into this turbo versus super stuff.... and still have no desire to be involved as far as the SDS kit goes. Too many people were asking questions and posting bad info about supers so I decided to finally state some of the aspects of superchargers that exist that have not been pointed out or discussed. I still maintain it's a great technology, and so is turbo. Just really boils down to what you are after. I'm also skeptical of anything a manufacturer ever promises about a product. Too much BS in the "tuner" world where companies promise stuff, but then say later "well that's approximate" or "that requires tuning" or some other line.

A vendor has to expect to deal with some negativity and BS, but Ripp also could have done much much more to be mature and intelligent with their responses. I think a lot of negativity developed as things degraded between both sides of the issue. I came in on the way tail end of things (as in like 3 days ago) so I dont' know who posted or said what to discourage ripp so badly. I personally am not a modd so I have no control or right to dictate discussions, but I would throw in my 2 cents in favor or in contrary to a statement that is inaccurate or out of line. Had I seen a turbo guy do what Ripp did in this thread I would have just as quickly and clearly responded to their statements as well. Negativity and flaming does not help any of us get our cars going faster, nor does it help us get more aftermarket support which we desperately need.

So hopefully we'll all play nice and maybe Ripp can come back and I'll defend their *** just as much as I layed in about their last post. So if you are reading this you have my word in that regard Ripp.

thanks for the helpful posts fkrzo.

cant wait for someone besides the guy with the test car to get the SDS. Finally we will have someone who knows how to use a computer to post what they think of it. I dont think that other guys knows how to post or something, i havent seen him on these forums in a while.
