^ok, so I found out that it's ok to remove them and replace them with the ones from the cable.

so... does this work for the 05 lancer. that site specified the aux adapter says to say what year lancer you have for them to send the "right" one...

so does that imply it will work??

i need help figuring this out....

i have an aftermarket unit installed. would this affect what is currently required to do with this aux cable.

Question MP3/iPod connector problems

I own a 2008 Lancer GTS with the standard audio system. I have taken it to the dealer twice for installation of the MP3 cable, but they have been unable to get it working. Has anyone else encountered problems with this, or does anyone have any tips/suggestions as to how to make this work successfully?

I have the Canadian SE model, so I'm not sure if the GTS w/ SS comes with those wires. The cable I got was the one from Mitsu.

What type of terminal fits in the hole in that wire harness.
Found a AUX adapter but the terminal cut off.

I finally got mine installed in my 2008 Evo MR. I have regular stereo system (not Rockford-Fosgate) and the Nav system (no tech package) does anyone have the problem of an ipod connected through this cable not being loud enough (I have to turn the volume on the ipod to max, and the stereo volume up to near max)?

I have an 08 GTS with S&S and had the dealer install the aux cable, I think just for the part price...cant remember if I paid for labor when I got the car. My ipod seemd to do the same thing volume wise when I tried it. Good thing I have the music hard drive . Haven't tried the ipod again after the first time and the feeling I paid money for a quiet ipod hookup lol. Oh, well might give it another go some time.

Ok everyone, clarification for everyone.
On the GTS models, the Pink, Black and Blue wires already in place of the radio connector are already connected to another piece further down in the dash.
Color codes are as follows
Pink = red
Blue = white
Black = black

All i did was splice into the existing connector found further below using the color combinations listed.

Here's pics of what it looks like, and how to get to it. (It's pretty much where the Factory rca plugs would be on the GTS w/ SS package).

Existing Harness:

Where it is located:

Looking closer (view looking straight down where stereo was taken out)
Name:  LancerStereo004.jpg

Size:  62.6 KB

And for the record, I used a $3 cable, and it works just fine.

Forgot to check, but pretty sure the Green/Blue wire would be for a video option for those with a screen.

In the back of my C-109 connector I had a purple wire, a black with white stripe, and a black in the three pin positions needed for the IPOD adaptor. After reading a bit I just said "f it" and pulled those pins out and put the ones for the adaptor in place and put some electrical tape over the pins I removed. Any idea what (if anything) I disabled by doing this?

Keith

PS: Works fine, and volume level is great.

PPS: This is on an Evolution MR with base radio, no nav or 6 disk changer.
