Hey bluewater, just wanted to say thanks for the write-up. I got tired of carrying around ten thousand CDs and constantly switching between them, so I ordered one of these cables a few days ago.
Just got it in today, and the installation took about a half hour and went without a hitch. Wouldn't have been able to do it without this guide, though.

Can anyone give me some tips regarding the connections/terminals at the radio connector. Getting the access was easy, but I can't seem to be able to find those terminals anywhere. I went to 3 dealerships(Mitsubishi, Hyundai and GM) and 2 electronics stores. The best they could suggest was to bring in a sample.
Which brings me to my main question, how do you get those terminals out? or does anyone have a picture of the terminals once removed? [Or even better a part number for them]
I came across a video on youtube that says you need to remove a little white platic retinaing piece on the connector, anyone know about this?
Your helps is greatly appreciated!

Background Noise
Before I started i have tested the Aux function and there was a background noise. ticrht.......tircht.......tircht......
I thought this will be gone when i connect my ipod but, but it's still there and louder than the music. Any ideas ?
Ps: I connected my cable at the cable which was there because i can't pull the cable out of the radio plug. I opend the lock for 1mm. Do i have to pull out this thing ?
Sorry for my bad English. I hope you understand what I want.

Yeah that's how it was but it had the video plug too.
Either way I figured it all out. Took me a while and finally with some help from a local Audio shop i got it going works just like factory.
Anyone has questions let me know.
You had the yellow wire entry as well, the video plug,? So you could see video if you had navigation or screen's?

1. Under the driver steering wheel there's a large shiny bolt.
2. Under the cup holders to the front there's another large shiny bolt this one is keeping two plastic parts together.
You'll still get a little background noise but it won't be as loud
I use to work for Mitsubishi that's just one of the design flaws that the lancer has. Can't do much else about it
Hope that helps.
And yes I connected it so that if you have the nav screen from Rockford you can watch videos or gaming consels on the screen. It's incredibly hard to play cod on it though you can barely see people on it.

That's cool. Cause I saw a guy with a 2010 Fully Loaded GTS with NAVIGATION SCREEN AND 5 SPEED EXACTLY LIKE MINE EXPECT I DON'T HAVE THE STOCK $2,200 NAVIGATION (SYSTEM)SCREEN.
If ya don't have the screen it's kinda pointless cuz the I figured it out for the screen system. If you have just the screen but no gps it will work.
O so if u have no GPS u can get video's n music on there?
I'm getting a new Mitsubishi either Ralliart or EVO GSR hopefully GSR EVO just waiting on Gillman Mitsubishi to call me tomorrow to let me know if I don't have TOO MUCH CREDIT OUT cause my credit is 750-800
