Aux input cable

What is the difference between the cable bluewaterdemon used and any other regular audio cable that I could use such as the one on the link below. I used this cable for my Eclipse/Spyder '07 and it works great.

http://www.installer-parts.com/by_item.php?it=MIT-35M

The reason I asked is because I noticed there is a "black box" built in in the Lancer cable and I wonder if it has an application.

Regards,
Gabe.

press and hold the "CD" Button on the H/U (Head-Unit), for about a second and it will change to aux, next to AM/FM button on the left bottom.

There is no difference, except for that rediculously stupid little box they put there in order to make it look like "it has to be purchased through mitsu" box is a scam so they can make money.

no its empty it has a magnet in it for the non shielded wires to stop interference.

ok listen up guys that stupid little box doesnt do anything its a ground isolator.... you can just use an ordinary stereo auxillary cable as long as u connect it the same way as the original installation diagrams, i have just done this and the sound is great off my ifone, do not buy that cable for $50, make your own ull save $45 it is worth it, or buy one of the same price at any jaycar, wallmart, kmart, Tandy or Dicksmith.

Anyone in Melbourne, Australia need help pm me, or reply here.....

And sorry guys for double posting im aware its not a good thing to do, but mods can u please merge my previous post thanx.

(Update)
there is slight interference in the way i did it.... it has a light humming noise through speakers, nothing a small ground isolator for about $4 cant fix, other than that its all good.

Has anyone else made any headway with this?

I have a MZ360224EX i bought a bit ago for use in my car not realizing when I ordered my GTS it was included. GTS has Navi

Right now I am hoping I can use it to install into my wife 07 outlander ES. No Navi.

I wanted to avoid opening till I heard more of your thoughts.

what are the end connectors called?

In the attached picture you can see the three different colored wires. On the end are the connectors that plug into the wire harness. I have an understanding of what they are and where they go however when I was at pep boys today i noticed those type of connectors were broken down into manufacture type (GM, etc) and then wire gauge. Im assuming its a 18-14 gauge wire however does anyone know what type beside Mitsubishi I should be looking for? I am building the IPOD version of this that plugs into the bottom of the ipod. Ive gotten the entire setup made except the end connectors. Once done ill post the write up for you guys.

is there a way to order the factory auxiliary cables and place them in the lower bin where the factory installs it for an MR with Navi but no RF speakers??

does anybody know if I could use this cable to direct-wire a Sirius satellite radio? I know that I may have to use an adapter if the Sirius doesn't use a 3.5mm jack. By the way, what is the "Load" button for on the head unit?

dude thanks so much.
It was pretty easy to install, the pigtail lock had me confused for a while lol
I went thru 2 cables, but I was lucky that Mitsubishi replaced my "broken" connector cable for free lol

Works like a charm!
I have been dying to listen to my iPod to work, now I can.
Thanks a million!

Can anyone tell me which wires go where if you're using your own 'homemade' cable?
I assume the original connects like this:
red = right +
white = left +
black = common ground -

Is this correct wiring?
Thanks
