so then i would just tune with it by loging it on the computer?

Also i just recieved my tactrix cable. I was amazed how fast they shipped it. It only took 2 days from the day i ordered it to the day i recieved it. But im reallly confused with how ecuflash works.
I start it up and then it asks for a ROM file but there arent any. What am i doing wrong.

^read this entire thread. you have to download the ROM file from the ECU. if you don't know what you are doing, then don't mess with it. Take it to a shop

The only use I see coming from that would be if you had a standalone ECU that needed that voltage input for its o2 sensor reading. You don't need to modify anything into the stock wiring to use your wideband or give a reading to your ECU.

i have downloaded the ROM file. But i dont have a hex file that i need or something.
I know what im doing with computers considering i am a computer sciences major in college and i know cars because i have just finished building a turbo kit for my car.
I have also tuned using other programs but never this one.
I just for some reason can not figure this out.
lol

Do exactly this:

1. Hook up cable to car and laptop
2. Start ECUFlash
3. Turn key in ignition to "on" (do not start car, just put key to "on" position)
4. Click the "read from ECU" button in ECUFlash
5. Choose the Evo VIII option from the list and click OK
6. Click OK again to begin dumping your ROM into ECUFlash
7. Click OK when its done
8. Save your ROM file

OK good. If you look at your ROM values in all the categories on the left hand side, do the cells that open up have a bunch of jibberish numbers and make no sense or do the fields look like they should? You may need a definition file created to define your ROM data.

Does your data look like this:

k so that must be my problem. I have not connected it up to my car because my car does not have power on it right now because i am just finishing up ionstaling my turbo. I hope to be done this weekend.
So it has to be hooked up to the car to work?

Well... you could always try asking your Lancer politely to give you his ROM...

After all, you did just give him a turbo!

could someone post a screenshot of the stock values for the idle portion of the rom. It's at the bottom of the left column.(Desired ISCV initial step position with AC off-Neutral, etc...) Thanks

Changed my PCV valve and checked the TPS and IACV. All are working correctly. Reflashed my ECU with hex file posted by Newfoundlancer on openecu(Thanks!)...
When i have the AC on, the idle is perfectly fine ~14 AFR( no looping or misfire) but when i turn the ac off the loopy idle starts and my AFR is at around 17sh. It feels as if the injectors arent opening back up fast enough after i let off the throttle causing an extremely lean condition immediately following.
Another weird thing is that when my Headlights are on, my idle is completely fine but when i turn them off, it starts to loop repeatedly. Could it be something to do with the voltage drop?

First off, you should never just flash someone else's ROM to your ECU. There is the possibility of turning your motor into a paperweight by having values that aren't meant for your motor setup loaded and being used. Here's a screenshot of those values going in order from left to right:

You should be able to use ScanTech with the Tactrix cable. Its posted over on MalibuJack's forum:

He's also got some other dataloggers and what not on his forums.

Oh no we got the same ecu ID so i used his file to read mines. =) As for the idle stuff thought maybe mines must be all messed up causing the idle but i checked them all against yours and everything was the same. Thanks for posting it tho.
