I wanna use ECU flash to tune my 03 OZ, Automatic.

i have the ECU flash software on my computer, and i'm about ready to get the cable. What else do i need, from reading it looks like i need some sort of ROM file, does anyone have that they could email me or something.

Any help would be appreciated.

You already have the ROM - its stored in the memory on your ECU This is what you extract from your ECU with ECUFlash. What you need is the definition file. Hooking up your car to ECUFlash will provide an ECU identifier. This is what is needed to determine if a definition file has already been made for your particular ROM or if a new one needs to be created.

Yup. Just use the "Read from ECU" button in ECUFlash to extract your ROM from your ECU. It will then be assigned it's identifier number and you will be either to read it or not read it depending on if your ROM has been given a proper definition file. If not, post it up and we'll all work on getting the values defined.

I didn't realize that nobody else was working on the values. I'll take a look at it today and see what I can come up with.

Even though you also have a 2003 OZ Auto, there are like 3-5 potential definition files. By pulling your ROM from your ECU you can see if ECUFlash gives your ROM this same identifying number. All you do is copy the .xml file to C:\Program Files\OpenECU\ECUFlash\rommetdata\mitsubishi\lance r. All the .xml definition files in this folder are potential definition files that ECUFlash will use to define the values in your ROM. If ECUFlash just shows jibberish numbers when you view your ROM, then you don't have a matching definition file and need to have one created with the identifying number that ECUFlash gave it. Then every ROM that is acknowledged by ECUFlash as having that same identifying number can use that definition file that has already been made up. Ultimately, everyone should submit their ROM data so we can have a master database of every possible definition file.

^oohhhh ok, so there is no way for me to know for definite, until i've pulled the rom.

I get ya. i will get the cable soon and pull the rom, if it has the same ID# i will just use that Definition file ^^^, if not, then i have to upload my ROM here and a new definition file needs to be made.

Correct?

Okay i just got this working but i got a weird problem from after i removed the piggy. I get a CEL light and i pulled the code. Its a P0171 "System too lean" I made sure to reconnect the wire that i cut so what could it be? Also when I press the throttle gently and let off the rpms drop fast back to ~500 and my wideband shows ~17-20 AFR. Checked for any lose hoses after the MAS, Got my LC-1 wideband simulating the first 02 sensor.
My idle RPM is around 600 and the idle AFR is usually 17 which surprises me.

Mod list:
Cold Air Intake, 59mm Bored throttle body, Port Polished 4g93 Intake Manifold, Vision FPR set to 38psi, RRM Headers, 2.5" catback exhaust, RRM Pully

Hope someone knows whats going on here. Thanks!
