***ECUFlash Now For Base Lancers!***
First of all..... Holy Crap, I just read 43 pages over the past two days. lol.
I am used to tuning my evo so I am very familiar with mitsulogger, evoscan, and ecuflash. My daughters bf asked for my help tuning his n/a lancer and I want to help as much as I can since I already have the tactrix cable, evoscan, and a wideband he can borrow while tuning.
I have read that for a n/a lancer 13.0 to 13.5 are safe and another person said 12.8-13.0 is safe and it was recently said in this thread that 12.5-12.8 is best. Which on is it? Should I richen it up at peak tq like the evo? At what load and rpm is it ok to be 12.8:1? For example, what afr should I be using at 50 load and 4000 rpm? Will it be 100 load whenever the car is WOT?
On to timing. Since the car is n/a shouldn't there be a point where you can advance the timing too much? In other words, there should be a point where you go past the optimum timing and start losing power before the car knocks. Personally, looking at the stock timing maps makes me think that they are fairly aggressive and little to nothing could be done to them to actually get more power.
Lastly, I think it is great what you guys are doing for the base lancer community. Not to blow sunshine up your *** or anything, but I am quite impressed.
Edit: I am very surprised none of you guys went the ricer way and richened up the afr's and retarded timing in the high rpm, low load cells.

i think my were a little weird because i seen i had my timing advantced. i finally got my wideband in and i was seeing i was runnin around 11.5 afr. haha, thats what im shooten for with my turbo on! i guess i am wasten a little bit of gas. ops
i just installed my wideband, and it says my af ratio is at 14+ always, sometimes 18 when decelerating. before i took it out it would read wot at 11.9-12.1
What the hell could casue it to misread.//

You are reading 14+ at WOT or normal cruising? Obviously, if that is at WOT you are in trouble, but at cruising it should be there and at de-acceleration (fuel cut) you should be reading as high as it goes (18+)
my wideband is working better today. last time i drove i was never in wot it was just a test drive and i didn't push it enough. Problem solved.
thanksfor input. I thought my sensor was out but when i got on the freeway today and it read 11.2 i was happy.

so my turbo is on and i was dataloggin lastnight. im running at 9.8 afrs. (may be lower im just not sure how low it reads). my boost is a little higher then 5 and im getting knock. im wondering what to do. it really doesnt make any sence. i retarted some timing and it smoothed it out when i hit boost. but im still getting knock. what you guys think?
im tryen to get my afrs around 11 at wot and im wondering whats the best way to go about doing it. my rom is just over the 100kb max of posting it so if anyone would like to take a look at it pm me with there email address and ill send it to you. thanks guys

Taking a look at your ROM won't be helpful. What we need to see are your datalogs. Are you knocking? What are your EGTs? What are your AFRs? You say you are aiming for AFRs of 11 - so then you need to adjust your fuel in those cells which correspond to the engine load vs. RPMs, taking into account timing. It's actually quite a complicated process that unfortunately no one will be able to help you with just by looking at your ROM.

why are you numbers so low on the fuel maps? they are in the 9's and 10s????
