Do you mean NA guys? If so, AWSOME Let me thank you ahead of time, and good luck. It would be great to not have to dyno tune right out of the gate, making this one of the cheapest mods and giving us the most bang for our buck. If you get this done major mad props to you.

If we are able to change thing directly into the ecu, do you know if we are able to disable the second Oxygen sensors? (After Cat) One of my friend has done this on is Ford Focus. (with the Diablo chip)

No Cel anymore for the use of a Header.

Okay this is what worries me.

Since ECU's can only get flashed say a 100 times is there any possible way to actually test the edit rom tune on the ECU w/o actually giving it a final flash? Cause imagine us checking and trying out til we get the right map might take almost a hundred tries.!

Is there a way to test it and try it out w/o actually writing it to the ECU. Say, a preview status....?

the whole ecu isn't flashed, only certain memory addresses. some addresses are used more than others so those addresses are more likely to blink out sooner than others.

what i'm saying is that it depends on what you're flashing and how often.

For N/A guys wouldn't the maps in the Piggyback v.2 be adequate for us? That is if we can even view it/use it? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to ECU mapping and such...or the piggyback in general.

I was discussing this system with Z yesterday and basically you need to tune this thing like you would any other PB. Go out, run your car, get a datalog or at the very least watch your rpms, your wideband afrs, and your egts and record them. Then go into the maps and edit as necessary. Should only take 5 or 6 tries to get a map that will work for what you want as long asyou do everything in a methodical order. Dont try to fiddle with one section of the powerband 10 times and then move onto the next, adjust each section to a degree and just change what you need. You shouldnt have to make a buttload of flashes to get this right

That would be pretty awesome if someone could get like a base map for a stock 04 just to lean out the stock map and get some better mpg and a few extra hp.

OPENECU should read your stock base map. There is a XML file in there for 2002 and 2004. the problem was it wouldn't read a 2003. hence the reason for Z's rom.

As soon as i get my cable, which has shipped already. I'll test it out myself. To see if those files in there will actually read my base rom off the ecu. I'll keep you posted.

the manual and auto ECU are different and require different flashses. Will ECUflash be the same way? No one has said anything about this yet. Every flash service from JET and RRM back in the day was only manual or a seperate flash for autos. just figure I should bring up that question.

that's a good question!

THe only way we're going to find this out is to compare the manual to auto.
but also, it all depends on what year lancer you have as well...

I guess it's a waiting game once again.

is there different settings we can set in like during the week get good MPG and then on the weekend get the max amt of HP we can?

does this require to be run on high octane?
