So I'm sure this has been covered, but:
1. So they have the 02 and 04 defs but just skipped over the 03 or what?
2. Another question, as with all tuning devices (SAFC, etc.), the one thing stopping me from buying is that I also needed a $400+ wideband and stuff. I'm guessing you will need that to tune yourself right?
3. Lastly, So I guess we have to have someone with a wideband make some base maps for different setups like stock, just intake, etc? and DL it from them?
Good job on research on this Z.

They have two definitions on there for a 2002 Lancer and a 2004 Lancer, which may work for you if you have one of those, but for my 2003 nothing worked. So I needed a new definition file. This is the file you need:
Download 2003 Lancer OZ Rally Definition File (Right Click on it and "Save As")
This is a RAR file. You can unpack it using software such as WinRAR. There are two files: the new definition file and the instructions on how to load the new def file. Enjoy!
I've also put this link at the first post as well!

So let me get this straight. With that definition file, the cable, the free software, and someone who understands what they are doing way better than me, I can get some nice gains out of my 03 OZ by removing my piggy V1 and reflashing the ECU. I just want to be sure I am understanding this correctly because this is something that I previously thought I would never have the time or money to get into. Now it is an obviously affordable option to get a nice performance increase and it almost seems too good to be true.
yes... this will cancel out the Piggy.
Oh but one thing I did notice on one site was that Supposedly the EVO ecu's can only handle about 100 to 200 ecu reflashes? Is this true for the lancer ECU's? supposedly they were built like this by the manufacturer.

2. If you plan on tuning yourself, then you must invest in the same tools a professional tuner would use, namely a wideband and a datalogging method. You can get a wideband that datalogs like a Zeitronix for around $300. Otherwise, a professional tuner will have all those tools and can flash your car and will charge probably around $150/hour to tune or may have a set price like $350 for a full custom tune. You'd need to look into that.
