I don't understand the exact problem you're having. You're gotten EcuFlash to read your ROM off the ECU. And you've extracted the necessary definition files to the proper location. So what's not working exactly? Saying, "I still can't get it to work" gives me nothing to go on. Take a screenshot of what EcuFlash is telling you or what its showing you to better explain it not working.
theres really no other way to put it. it still says there isnt a description for my car. same bs it was doing before. i called the previous owner and he told me i had to change how ecuflash shows the rom i guess? it made absolutely no sense to me. is there some sort of thing i should change so i can actually view my rom through ecuflash. this is getting somewhat irritating, ive never had this much trouble using this program until this car.

If you're getting that message then you don't have the definition files in the right spot. I was able to reproduce that same message just now by removing your definition file from the directory and then trying to open your ROM. And low and behold I moved the definition file back in, reopened your ROM in EcuFlash and it read it perfectly. I don't know what more I can tell you.

You don't need to do anything more with the definition files after copying them into the rommetadata folder. They are used when you load an ECU ROM into EcuFlash. Until then, they just sit in the folder.
