Why are you guys sweating about stuff like that? Don't have it worst than miragers w/ the 1.5 liter engines making sub 100 crank HP . . . they are the majority (+70%) on the road today, except for post 2000 mirage sedans or dead from the curse of accidents plaguing us towards extinction.

How did you defeat the immobilizer if one doesn't have the original key?

Um, I think it's worse that we have a 2.0 and still put out sub 100 to the wheels. At least they have an excuse

get the VIN number from the car that you get the ECU from and hit up Mitsu. Its just like if you lose your key...you have to call the STEALERship to get a new one so that they can replace it for you.
If you guys need help getting chips n stuff...let me know. PM me the vin number and I'll call my people.

I'm auto as well but I am thinking of converting to a manual tranny and do this swap and some NA mods instead of turbo b/c my mileage concerns me (120,000)...

my mileage is up there too.... im at 90K but as long as u do ur proper oil changes and basic car maintenence... you will be fine (oh you should REALLYYY change your belts and water pump asap if you havent! put in the rrm pulley while ur at it) i will be doing that as soon as my custom turbo is 100% installed..

PS... the manny swap is a pain to collect the pieces.. ive been down that road b4 lol.. and the fact that you will have to buy a beater as a 2nd car just to get around while ur car is being worked on is a hurt full thought (on mann i swore the last time someone would see me in a beater was high school lol)

being that i am building this car for auto crossing i still wouldnt mind doin an auto version of this

I've already done the belts and water pump but forgot to get the pulley and actually it's not going to be that hard to get the parts because the shop here has already done the swap and can get the parts fairly quickly and as far as getting a second car, I'm in college right now so I could do with out driving for a few weeks and work on campus...

I kinda knew that. But people getting engine swap from other place like ebay or other non local sites, won't have a VIN # or simply forgotten to write it down. I'm talking about these kind of people.

Also, isn't there some sort of security fail safe check that the dealership go through before making a key off a VIN #?

Ex: joe smoe thief sees an awesome 3g eclipse GT on a college parking lot. Read VIN off the dash . . . jogs to the neighborhood Mitsu dealership . . . ask for a new replacement key. There is a liability issue.

what is involved with the custom motor mount? is it somethin you have to do to the original 4g94 mount, or the 4g64 mount? or a custom mount all together?

Do you have any idea how much it will cost to convert from auto to manual and upgrade to 4g64?

For this set up you would still use the Lancer LSD?
