Hey, how about those INTAKES. I did forget to mention the shop I went to and had helped my buddy do the spring install had a 400 HP GST eclipse in there. Motor was sweet BUT its was bright orange with dark blue and green accents. The owner of the shop did come out and check my car out and he was like where are you getting all of these mods at, your car is brand frickn new? He liked the 08 and said it was the best looking lancer Mitsu has ever put out.(Then made the comment Hey I got a set of BBS rims that would fit that car perfect[ Rims+tires+install=$3995.00] ) UUUUU No thanks sweet @ss rims tho.

 

shouldn't call people newbies for wanting some numbers to support the claims off others. sure they have proven themselves in the past with older lancers, but this is new engine.

 

i have been reading this thread for awhile and i figure i would add my 2 cents.

as rob stated we have done alot of dyno work on the suzuki sx4, we dynod a stock one and one with our intake and exhaust, the gains were nice and we had all the proof. but everyone just nit picked eveything about the pull and in the end they were a doubters, i mean HOW MUCH CAN WE DO.

i am not saying that we wont dyno the car or that u guys will do the same, i am just saying that it is alot of work and time just to be doubted in the end.

as show time said, we push our products to the edge in testing and design, we only make the best quality parts that ADD HP.

 

OK, but that's Suzuki. Honestly, since NO ONE dynoes Lancer parts, I think we'd be more receptive to just seeing something with a number. Hell, if you guys just freaking lied and MADE UP numbers, it would at least quiet the doubters a bit (I can see it now... Rob's next post will be "yeah, the intake dynoed at 10whp, but I lost the dyno sheet." Just kidding!).

For me personally, it's hard to buy a product based just on "you'll love it!" The fact that RRM has claims of 1 second in the 0-60 and solid AX numbers does help, but it's kind of abstract. For my example, I haven't AXed my Lancer yet, so I don't know how much of a gain those number produce over stock. And I don't know if my CVT would get the same 1 second.

The more information that gets on the market, whether from RRM or customers or disinterested parties, the better it is for everyone.

 

We have dynoed more Lancer parts than all others combined. That is not the truth DJ? You lived out those years on these boards. You know better. We just have not dynoed any 2008 stuff yet. I will do it when the right occasion to try do it. Meantime, we are still a little of whack since Gabe died. You guys can scream DYNO 100 times, but I will still do it when we get a chance.

What RRM needs to understand is that most people in this board are 2nd or 3rd generation customers. Most people here have had either a Mirage, a Lancer, a RA, an EVO, or two or more of these cars. We've been tunning our cars for a while and we've gained experience about what products to buy or not to buy. We have seen excellent RRM products so far, but when it comes to a new platform, trust must be earned. The evoluionm users arent new to the scene. Yes, some are, but the majority arent. So, when RRM comes to this forum and says things like "We've beaten an STI on the track with our new Lancer" or "Lower a whole second on 0-60" we get a bit skeptical. It sounds too good to be true. Would it be possible to RRM to achieve those marks? Yes, no doubt. They are a great company and they seek the best for our cars. Most of their business are returning customers, I bet. But unless we get some proof, we will be always be skeptical.

Way i see it is, sure you have great sales right now, but they would be alot higher with hard evidence and numbers of course.

I just dont like the fact that you can make a product and sell it without having the numbers or facts before release, obviously there is something that made this model better than others. You cant just be creating it and say "oh this feels better than the last one, lets market it."

I must say i'd be envious of your sales if i was a competitor, you hardly had to market, just had to say "we made it" and people bought it. Crazy if you ask me, but you guys are good at what you do and its to be expected. Only reason i ask is for numbers so i can show them to my M.O.M. (Manager Of Money) and purchase it :P i unfortunatly need proof of worth to tap into my savings.

So get on it! That is when you have time of course.. i'm not going anywhere anytime soon . Keep up the good work.

 

OK, we really need to stop debating RRM's business practices at this point. This thread is about intakes! We've stated our case, Rob has stated his. Numbers will come when they do. Let's get back on topic.

 

We are almost out if intakes. We are scambling to get more part machined for these to make more. I think I goofed up and did not make enough last time. There will be a slight gap in supply. PRolly a week or 2. I still have some left though.

to any mods and RRM: guys can we set up some kind of group buy? may be this will come out cheaper.. i sure dont have the money for intake and exhaust. but i would be able to buy at least one of them: that way ROCk can see how many people are actually interested in the parts, and so he can see how many he has to produce. We could set up a start date and ending date: may be 2 diffrent lists say INTAKE/exhaust combo or just intake or exhaust group buy. ROCK what do you think? would this come out cheaper for exhaust say 20.00 cheaper if 5 guys bought it. or say void the shipping charges? i have done group buys before on other forums and it always worked well, we always did get stuff cheaper if we had a number of people buying them...so what you say guys, i am definalty in for a exhaust...mods and RRM post reply to this and let me know what you think...

 

looks good. i was wonderin where u got the strut bar tho. or did that come stock on GTS? im paintin my engine cover this weekend with some heavy duty paint.

 

We will have strutbars that blow away the stock GTS bar. Hang in there. As for group buys, it really has not been anything we do cause we can barely keep up ususally. When we have overstock, we just do a EVOM sale. That won't happen for a while but that is how we do it.

Rob has already answered this. Not going to happen. Given the supply/demand of Lancer products, and also the market, it's just not really reasonable for RRM. They do sales, not group buys.
