I would say that the Cat + resonator are less restrictive than the muffer, i have Cutted our muffler it is, one of the worst molesters or flow that I have ever seen. compared to other ones I have looked inside of.

looking at the INJEN upgrade exhaust which is a full cat, I couldnt really see a massive gain from that. then again i am willing to admit, things are different when it comes to the PZEV, off the top of my head I think the exhaust made 10 whp based on the 143hp spec.

Since our engines are not really geared for HP but more towards TQ points, back pressure is a good thing

getting back to the subject we were talking about.... you are right that , the hp vs. dolllar doesnt sometimes make sense when buying bolt ons. I think we all buythese things cause we actually feel like we are building something with our own hands. instead of standing back, tune tune and presto.

I only wish getting tuning done here was cheaper in Canada. I almost rolled over when FourStar told me their standard rates for EVO tuning. :O

The problem is you're not going to realize a 6HP gain just from removing one of many potential bottlenecks. Even if the muffler is hurting flow, it won't be a major issue at least in the big picture. The piping is still the same size, the cats are still present, the exhaust path is still the same, etc.
I highly doubt the exhaust made 10 whp on a 143 HP motor. Never trust company dynos, they're usually full of ****.

we are about the put AEM and INJENs claims to the test in a Dyno Day in terms of the intakes, plus one mystery intake. An exhaust show down is set for the summer.

should be interesting

rrm SRI/Pulley

My wife bought a 09 lancer de and had the rrm sri and pulley installed by in august of 08. I just bought a 09 lancer de (same as my wife) and decided to test it out to see if there was a difference. At the light, when she floored it, 2 seconds into the run, her front bumper was already 2ft in front, by 5 seconds she was a whole car length in front.

We're going to pull the sri so that she can get warranty defect fixed at local mitsubishi. I'm going to race her again with just the pulley and see which one is making the difference.

I'm thinking about getting the rrm timing mod, and racing that against my wife's sri and pulley to see if we are a match from light to light.

Both mods are worth the money for sure. Not the first time I have heard similar story.

The funny thing is, i didn't think it would make that much of a difference. Now I have to study your youtube video to take off the sri so that she can get the break recall fixed at a local dealer, then put it back on. Unless you know of a local dealer that will...hmmm...ignore the sri and do the work. Did you say at one time Norco mitsu is friendly to modders? I'd rather not take the chance of hosing her warranty.

You will not have a warranty issue with Norco if you have RRM stuff. I am quite sure of it. IF you do call us asap. We will smooth it out but I expect we will never have to once you say the parts are ROAD/RACE.
