lol, all that wonderful explanation and you still end with "order online", which is what he was wary of in the first place. It's 2008 though, nothing really to be worried about.

Anyway, Hi guys, I'm new here. I just ordered the V2 and it'll be here Wednesday. My very first upgrade. Super stoked about it.

Hope to get to know some of you though, later!

Is anyone running a V2 SRI on an 08 w/ the CVT? If you guys have been running with the intake for a little while can you guys say anything about the performance and/or sound of it with the CVT?

Would love to hear how the new intake performs/sounds

just quick question > the filter on the V2 SRI, is it washable? or do we have to replace it when it gets dirty? if so, how often do we have to replace it?

If its an oil based air filter, you can clean it, re-oil it, and put it back in.

My pref is the AEM dry filter. You can wash it and re use it as well, how ever, you dont have to oil it. It is very easy to use to much oil and f-up the MAF!

i have it. It's a dry filter. When this thing gets dirty i will just use some warm water and clean the filter from the inside-out. Let it dry, then smack it back on

IT is a dry filter like AEM uses. We sell replacements. You should not have to replace it any more often than you would want to change your OEM panel.

thanks rock for the confirmation... i feel better about spending the $220 on the intake knowing it comes with a washable intake ..

i can't wait till my intake and exhaust come in... hope it'll be a big improvement to stock right now

sure. but too much pressure and surely you could put some major holes and rips in the gauze.

Question for Rock

Rock, my wife just got a 09 lancer DE CVT. She's use to her old ford focus and says that when she steps on the gas when she's already going about 15 miles per hour, the car is a dog. I told her to floor it all the way but she's not into doing that.

...is this normal for the CVT?

Have you heard of any ecu reflash that might help?

I had you install the strut bar and SRI on my 2004 red lancer es. (if you remember, we needed to change the intake to SRI for the strut bar to fit and also had my breakpads replaced by you guys) I'm super happy with the SRI and my wife is asking if it would help the low end rpm HP/TQ on her 09 lancer DE?

INtakes don't really do that but on the CVT car a piggy and pulley will offset any tendency for it to lose some bottom end. From there you have top end and low end/throttle response improvement.

what's up man.

Best thing i'd get for the low end bog is headers. But im guessing that's not practical at this point for your wife. So next thing's i'd recommend are the pulley and shorty together. Getting one of these mods will net you a gain but using these two together and you're wife would surely notice a difference in the pickup.

I won't say how much because i know CVT's are kinda notorious for "still" feeling slow regardless of what mods are on it. The cvt always makes people want more. But these parts worked nicely on my 5 speed. hope that helps

Here's some shots. If any of you guys are wondering what's crawling around my engine-bay, it's a set of NRG Grounding Wires. Mounts to the negative terminal. Still kinda iffy about it, but a buddy of mine works for them.
